I think it’d be fun if Oritel had been an elf/was actually an elf. He’s always wearing that headdress helmet too so it’s not like his ears are always visible, it’s only ever during the 3d movie we can see them

Like the relationship between Daphne and Oritel since in your Au it is not her real father (there is she calls him dad or Oritel or would like to call him that)

Daphne in general likes Oritel as a PERSON but she's not sure if she likes him as a FATHER. They only spent like 8 years interacting (counting both the time before Marion married him and after) before the Fuckening so they never truly formed a deep parental bond, but she doesn't have issues with him at all and thinks he's good for her mom. She originally addressed him as Mr. Ferreaum before the engagement and tentatively calls him Father Oritel after the marriage. She's deff more partial to him than Bloom is tho

WHAT HAPPENED TO ORITEL

Not with Mariam.

As I said he’s Amais’s older brother. He was arranged to be with Mariam, but was called of a few months later. If there’s one thin Mentians pride themselves with, is to love with freedom. A prince of Dormir being arranged to marry a woman he doesn’t love would cause quite the scandal and Amais did love Mariam, though did try to hid it at first because he thought she loved Oritel, not him. Oritel himself loved Erendor, something only his mother and Favian knew. Not even Amais or Mariam knew, both just knew he wasn’t happy being with Mariam. Favian and their mother kept this very hush-hush because Oritel marrying Erendor would’ve caused a much bigger scandal than Oritel not being in love with the person he marries due to the very tense relationship between Eraklyon and Domino. Favian didn’t want to lose their closest political ally and their mother didn’t want to lose her youngest son if Dormir and Sparx became enemies.

Hey! From the MA film I remember that Erendor and Oritel were friends before the destruction of Sparx. So, I have a question) Will you keep that friendship in your rewrite? Because there’s also a question why does he act in such a negative way towards Bloom? And also that part when he has saved her life in a battle in MA... Like he wouldn’t do such thing if he hadn’t got a little bit of sympathy towards Bloom. I’m a little bit confused, I’m sorry🙈

Hi! I’m pretty sure I will keep that friendship in my rewrite, it’s something I’m pretty ambivalent on, but it serves the plot so *le shrug*.  If not friends, I’ll probably at least have them as allies before the destruction of Sparx.  

I think he as a few different reasons for disliking Bloom.  For one she’s the girl who tempted (for lack of a better word) his son away from the nice, safe, engagement with Diaspro he had all planned out.  Now obviously that’s not actually Bloom’s fault, Sky is a big boy who made his own decisions, but it doesn’t change the fact that Sky met Bloom and realised he wanted to marry for love, not just because his parents are telling him to.  For someone as controlling and egotistical as Erendor, that’s a hard thing to get over.

There’s also the fact that Bloom is so not the type of girl he ever wanted his son to marry.  Yes, she’s the princess of a formerly strong and wealthy planet, but she was raised, and more or less acts most of the time like a commoner.  She’s not used to royal society, and to be completely honest, she has no real interest in engaging in it.  Erendor’s Eraklyon is a very classist society, and he likely would have married Samara because she was of high nobility in her own right.  Bloom couldn’t be further from that.

And then there’s the guilt he still feels from betraying Oritel and Sparx.  Guilt can manifest is a lot of ways including dislike or aggression.  Bloom is a constant reminder of Erendor’s past cowardice and it’s not something he handles well, clearly.  And just on your last point about Erendor saving Bloom in MA, that makes sense, even if they share a tense relationship of mutual dislike.  Not liking someone/not thinking they are right for your child is very far away from actively wishing harm on a person or allowing them to be injured or even killed.  I think Erendor is bugged by Bloom, she represents a lot of what he doesn’t like or wants to ignore, and to be honest probably would be very happy if she just went away.  But that doesn’t mean he actually wants her to die.
