Fancy some Cranberry Mostarda relish, pickled ramps and fennel olives? I loved the delicious treats Chef Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant treated us with as we got a sneak peek of the new @edibleedexp #KitchenHouseORL last night. . . It was a whirlwind weekend that flew by! I discovered my new favorite biscuit sandwich, wined and dined at a fantastic cowboy themed charity gala, and ran a 5K in honor of my sister (in between household chores and working on a new social media conference!) . . It was a welcome treat to cap off the weekend enjoying fantastic nibbles with foodie friends on a warm sunny day that evolved into a cool breezy night in the edible garden. The new educational facility where @cheffonzo together with Chef Sarah Cahill, Chef Allison and a team of volunteers have joined forces to educate school-aged kids from the Orlando Junior Academy about nutrition, gardening, food science, culinary skills and more. They "are not training chefs" as Chef Fonzo told me, they are educating better eaters. When children learn to love broccoli and kale (because they’ve grown it themselves), they learn to prepare it, set the table and then do the dishes, that’s a win for everyone! . .
