• runs away until someone finds him and sends him to foster care

• his foster families never wanted him for more than a year: he’s too hard to take care of, he’s getting too old, the house is not suitable for children, neglect, abuse, etc etc

• finally, as a 17 year old finds his forever home and parents

• they gave him everything he’d asked for, even payed for him to get into the garrison

• when keith was expelled from the garrison he was told to go home

• but when he went home, his adoptive parents didn’t want him anymore because he was already 18 and they weren’t getting money

• keith had no where to go, so he just ran. ran away.
