She stood behind him as they waited to be checked out of the store. She had been standing for ten minutes in line, but she wasn't complaining. Instead she had been staring at his ponytail. It was long and dangled there, begging to be pulled. Her hand started to raise up, but she quickly put it down. 'No,' she thought to herself, 'Ah'm an adult now. Ah don't do such chidlish pranks.'
The line is insane. If Daniel’s guess is right, he’s been standing here for about fifteen minutes. On normal days, he wouldn’t really mind this. Today, however, is different and he has to go back to the clinic in ten minutes or Agatha will skin him alive. Of course, the last part was just an exaggeration but he really needs to go back; it’s the clinic’s peak hour.
As he stood, he did not take notice of the woman behind him who seems to be eyeing his ponytail like a cat waiting to pounce.
