Best thing this week (if not decade): after almost a year of my step-uncle dithering and being useless, I finally received my inheritance and it’s exactly enough to completely wipe the credit card debt I’ve been carrying since uni - for almost 15 years. It wasn’t even a large sum but the monthly interest had me crippled. I’m finally free! I’m really looking forward to treating my friends to actual presents this year!

The planet was awash with tall stalks of swaying green grass; with each ripple of wind, the colour shifted, a delicate sage swirling into a forest green. The Paladins hovered at the edge of the castle walk way, perplexed. 

“It’s like a cornfield,” Lance said, crouched down as he brushed a hand over the stalks of grass. “We’re gonna lose Pidge the moment we walk inside.”

“I resent that,” Pidge snapped back, crossing her arms. Keith shuffled his way over to Pidge, shared a quick glance with Hunk, and the two of them lifted her up seamlessly between them. Her squawk of outrage turned to a yelp when they dropped her off the other side of the Castle’s platform. Immediately, the grass swallowed her up. 

“I hate all of you!” Pidge called from within as she poked a hand out of the grass. Hunk, snickering, helped her back up onto the walk way.

Re: that track in Bodom - I've been trying to track it down myself but, to be honest, it sounds like it's Iida's Theme without the top line of the harmony. Same chord progression and everything. That said, I can't find anything that sounds 100% *exactly* like it online. I haven't been able to find a clearer version of the full credits, though, so there's a chance the track is one of the three listed at the very end of the credits, I just can't make out their full details.

That’s the only thing that I can think too. Cause i relistened to that one a lot and it does sound really similar, but not quite. I wish I could just find it. I think part of the reason I think it’s a separate song is because it kind of sounds like “Rhubarb” by Aphex Twin. So maybe I’m mixing that melody up with the fact that I heard “Ida’s Theme” earlier in the film? 

And I tried the three songs at the end, since I’ve got the movie on Shudder and could see the artists. But the song either isn’t the one I’m looking for, or the song is impossible to find to listen to. 

So frustrating. Oh well. I really, really appreciate you trying to find it! I’m willing to bet you’re right though, that’s it’s a more stripped version of “Ida’s Theme”.

Your blog is so bad for my work ethic. Caught myself re-reading Lions Made Them Do It at the till for the fourth time, told a nosy customer it was product research. I might have to fire myself.

YES GOOD I AM GLAD THAT I AM ENTERTAINING. I mean....product research is an awesome lie and I back it up. Cough. But thank you so much also because I put Work into this blog and it should be used to drag employees away from their job yes excellent.

3 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

So, I got tagged by @robotichawk for the “3 things you didn’t know about me” meme. And because I’m vain and like talking about myself, I decided to acquiesce to their request!

1. I’ve read over 15,000 books in my lifetime. I used to keep track of each one I finished by writing a miniature library card and keeping them in my own tiny library card catalog. I don’t know the official number any more because the catalog got destroyed when my parents moved, but it was well over 12,000 books when that happened.

2. I really hate scallops. Can’t stand the taste or the texture, no matter how they’re cooked. Trying to eat them makes me want to vomit.

3. I use female pronouns because it’s significantly easier for me to pass as female in the professional world, but I do not actually identify as female. Gender-neutral, masculine-leaning is likely the simplest explanation for my head-space/identity.

I worried about this too - but mostly folks are delighted that you’re making the attempt, and if you worry that you sound anime then you’re already doing better than those who never pick up the accent at all. Ganbatte ne!

haha yeah ... most people say that japanese people are very accommodating & happy for foreigners who try to learn the language so that's encouraging...
