Timess’ Abigail Spencer As Lucy Preston Lip Sync To United States National Anthem “O Say Can You See.”
3 years ago. #neverforget #charleston9 #blacklivesmatter #thisisamerica #sameasiteverwas #osaycanyousee why #libertyandjusticeforall does not exist? 9 lives taken and they took killer to McDonald's after he was captured in Shelby, North Carolina.
Ask those that despise the protests of #injustices, those that want you to stand proudly when the #nationalanthem plays, the ones that call you #sob because you #takeaknee, to explain "Why would #BlackPeople want to stand in support of racism?" • • • The national anthem itself is racist and promoted the death of Black People. #osaycanyousee the words of the song? It wasn't written for us ANYWAY!! • • • #Merica #america #american #usa @realdlhughley #murica #wallup #buildthewall @nfl #number45 #conservative #liberal #government #constitution #keepitreal ・・・ #wakeup #staywoke

Original tune to a familiar lyric.
Kathy says-->
This is a sorry recording. So, sorry. Maybe because my computer is really memory-starved there are weird little skips and glitches. And I’m trying to be kind of quiet so as to not disturb Dad and other household inhabitants. And at some point Grandma comes down the steps and across the room in her flip-flops (and isn’t even walking in rhythm!). And I’m playing my Mom’s 45ish-year-old wide-necked classical Yamaha (which is slightly warped), and I’m now more used my 5ish year-old folk guitar (narrow neck). And I’m just not that great in the first place. But maybe you’ll get the idea.
Usually when I sing this song, I do the first and last verses of the poem by Francis Scott Key. You probably recognize this as the text from the United States’s National Anthem.
Here’s the last verse, for your info:
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation! Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
At any rate, Grace, I’ve met your challenge (finally). Now, here’s YOUR challenge: Write alternate lyrics to this tune! It might be easier to use the “official” Star Spangled Banner to check for syllables, due to the skippy/wonky nature of this recording.
UPDATE: That other challenge? Just kidding. Here’s your real challenge: Plan a rough itinerary for a two week-long trip for you and me, factoring in what you know about me in terms of interests, physical ability, etc., along with your interests and desires. Money is no object except as relates to our preferences (i.e., I don’t appreciate excessive expenditures or high luxury, but prefer simpler, clean and kind of quiet lodging).
[P.S. In case it isn’t clear: I wrote this tune, so, if anybody uses it, remember to mention that.]
The sun dropping with the Key bridge in the background. The Key bridge is named after Francis Scott Key who wrote our national anthem. Just by the bridge is a marker painted red white and blue. It marks the approximate location where on the deck of a British ship he saw the Stars and Stripes still proudly waving over Fort McHenry and he wrote the poem that many years later became the song we all sing at Baseball games. #SVBellaLuna #Baltimore #CharmCity #KeyBridge #Osaycanyousee @fountainepajot
