im just gonna say it now uhhhh osha? doesnt know how to cut hair. she’s always been trained to kill swiftly with a knife or a spear, but uhhh hair maintenance is another field entirely. so. bran and rickon growing out their hair on the journey? accurate.
‘ yer’ one wit’ your pack now, wild wolf. th’ north s’ yours again. ’ though it’ll be ripped soon. the dead s’ coming, and they’re coming quick, they say. osha tries not t’ shiver at the thought, but she thinks of bruni - of her sweet husband whose laughter she cannot remember for all that she tries, but she remembers his scream. wretched and horrible and frightenin’, and it’d kept her up for hours, they did, for days t’ come after she ran, until it didn’t no more. not when she met the little lord. and then - then, she had other things t’ fight for. other people. monsters t’ brave through, and men t’ deceive. shaggydog s’ by her feet as she says ‘em, as she thinks this, and she bends down: the wolf is large and consuming. any other time, osha can imagine being scared, but her hands is in the fur instead, threading it behind, caressing. she would want t’ do the same at the littlest of lord like she did, time n’ time again on their journey through the woods, fingers firm and solid in his hair fer’ comfort - but kneelers’ customs r’ confusing t’ her. should she kneel ‘stead? should she have begged for mercy fer’ bein’ bold t’ a small lord?
she doesn’t know. but osha couldn’t risk a hand, she couldn’t - so she lets go of the direwolf, and stare at the boy grown. her little man. though not so little no more. she did that, osha thinks as she puffs out her chest just a tiny bit higher, she got him safe and grown and healthy as any boy could in this war. but the dead is marching. and she can fight men and women alike, she could, they are easier to slay; but not that. the non-living. the wild wolf knows this. ‘ once i see th’ little lord, i can’t be here with you no more, m’little wolf. i am not strong for what’s t’ come, m’ not. ’ she’s lyin’, she thinks. she would die for the boys now, bleedin’ and kickin’, without battin’ an eye - but maybe if she pretends for a few seconds longer, she can change her bloody mind ‘bout it. ‘ and yer’ safe. safe as safe can be, i was made t’ believe. i —- ’ but she couldn’t finish what she’s got to say. she couldn’t even remember what she’s got to say. / from osha for @northeir !
osha: i am a WILD woman i am a Beast put a knife in my hand!!!!!!!!!! also osha: carries bran without a complaint, brushes his hair affectionately, observes and tries to always understand bran, tells bran to not mind his dreams so he won’t be stressed tf out, calls hodor a gentle giant, treats hodor decently, holds rickon’s tiny little hands when theyre walking, trusts the wolves impeccably, jokes with rickon and tosses his smol curly hair, comforts rickon when he’s crying out cause he doesn’t wanna leave bran and kisses the crown of his head, tells him “we’ll have our own little adventure” because while there’re lives at stakes, osha probably is still reminded that he’s just a kid, and he’s scared, so she tries to make it sound lighthearted and something rickon can look forward to; looks people straight in the eyes and tell them to keep bran safe, admitting proudly, “he means the world to me”
since i realise natalia tena can sing, and she sang good as hell, im confirming once and for all that osha sings lullabies @ rickon
‘ calm now, white wolf. ’ three arrows. and she even knows the type. it’s the kind she’s seen a lot - not the same, no - but she knows. it belonged to hunters, she remembers. osha once had a desire too, to learn. but archery takes patient and more work than she can afford durin’ the time. she’d bruni, more so, and was already handy with a knife. yes, she was good with ‘em. could skin as much as she could slit and throw ‘em. but t’ see the damage of arrows on a grown man ... how fascinatin’. though she suppose those aren’t the kind of thoughts she should have - not when she don’t wish to kill the white wolf, lest she wants the little lords t’ be angry. they can’t. couldn’t. osha - cares for them. so much. it would hurt if they’re angry. ‘ yer’ alright. calm. ’ / from osha for @soughtlove !

osha (the one who saved bran and rickon)
they are primarily tv-show based with books influences, except osha, who will be tv-canon only and heavily headcanon based.
❛ ye' want to go back, don't ye' ? ❜ it's more of a statement than it is a question. of course the youngest wolf would want t' go back. that's his home; that's always been his home. if osha had any power, she'd make that home safe. she'd make that home a good place without anyone t' drown it alive or burn it. nothin' would ever touch it. ah, look a' her now if mance or anybody from beyond the wall's ever got a whiff what she's becomin', to the kneelers more so, surely they'd spare her more than a few pleasant jabs. but they don't matter now, do they ? because osha'd decided to leave it all on her own accord. because there ain't no bruni t' come back to no more, only the unfamiliar cold, only the dead.
there is a reason they were running, and it wasn't only the boltons or these kneelers' many kings, it weren't. fuck.
❛ i've taught ye' well, boy. ❜ she'd taught him plenty. how to skin rabbit, fishes; pluck feathers from pheasants and chickens and ducks. she taught 'im how to light a fire, how to dry his clothes. how to clean himself when there look like there's nothin' to clean himself with. but — ❛ not enough t' fight the walkers, i didn't. we- we're safe here. ❜ here, in the south, an hour away from crossing the sea on the boat she's managed to wrangled passes for both o' them - away from the fight. all o' it. and they can stay safe, until the fightin's done. and when that's over, she- she'll get him back. she swears it. these boys... her young wolves... they meant everything t' her now. and if she'd failed any of them before they could return t' winterfell—
osha will not be able to live wit' herself.
( and she'd want t' see bran too. if only t' know she didn't make a mistake lettin' him go. )
❛ i need ye' safe, laddie. ❜
