Okay but I still absolutely love the idea of Origins being set in the far future of the dsmp because it could very well solve all the reasons why the server is so strange and glitchy and seemingly broken. It’s just the magic of the world trying to cover up the ruins of civilisation.

And no characters in any way are connected to the dsmp, it’s just that they have similar names and mannerisms. Just imagine a normal mining session, you hear bats and think “oh there must be a big cave nearby” so you begin to mine in that direction. Moments pass, and now you’ve arrived in a small cliff overlooking a large crater all the way down to bedrock. 

 However here’s the strange bit. There’s no deepslate except for the tunnel you came from and the very high roof. It’s just stone and vines and grass that are somehow still preserved despite the little to no light in the area. You squint downwards and see what the historians call “old iron ore” but you’ve never seen this particular kind of iron before. It’s different. It’s unnerving. It’s strange.

You climb down from your spot on the cliff and find your feet landing on rotted and creaking wood reminiscent of a mineshaft, however there are no chain links attached to the ceiling nor is some of it connected to the ground. Bits and pieces are hanging and hovering in the air. You begin to realise “This was man-made” Then you ask later. “What happened here?”

So you explore some more. You pass unfinished projects and large buildings and iron doors stuck together for no particular reason. You pass by the church with faded banners and dried off paint. You pass by chests still filled with items and restaurants still stocked with surprisingly preserved ingredients.  Then you walk even further and find yourself crossing a bride over what could’ve been a large lake and see a town called Snowchester.

Except there’s no snow. 

You find a mansion and go inside, wincing at the creak of the doors and wood. You walk up aged stairs and enter what seems to be a child’s room. Decked in dusted over toys and painted with thick layers of dust and dirt. “Who lived here?”

Then you find a photo with blurred out faces and faded handwriting that you can barely read and the questions grow louder and louder. You have little answers, and more questions than you entered with. 

You decide to leave, perhaps you’ll visit this place another day. 

You pass by a museum and raid it, picking up books and pictures and maps of a place you can’t find the name of. You pick up a faded and burnt and dusty flag of blues and reds and whites and yellows and blacks.  Perhaps the antiquarian will find a use for these.

Hc that everyone in origins has little moments every now and then where they act a little actually a lot more animalistic and/or wild than normal. (Nicknamed “feral fiasco” by Charlie.) 

Most of these incidents are very much like a cat chasing a laser dot so most of the members end up using this as blackmail against one another and start betting on who would have the next “incident”.  At some point they’ll see Phil repeatedly crashing into glass and staring confusedly at glass bottles filled with water bc “levitating water?? Huh?? How??” as well as randomly picking up the smaller members off the ground and placing them in nests.  Tommy’s moments are a little similar but since he can’t pick most people up yet (minus Sneeg and sometimes Charlie) he just starts pushing people in the direction of the Pube while getting distracted every now and then at every shiny thing he sees.  Wilbur noticing almost immediately that someone hasn’t slept in a while and aggressively pushing them towards their house while growling and hissing at the itchy feeling of sunlight he has even when he’s invisible. This leads to him staring very intensely at whoever hasn’t slept without speaking, just intimidating someone into sleep.
