I will always wait for Ilhoon. Regardless of the situation, which lets be honest he was going to get punished for, I will give him love and support.

Y’all have to to come to terms with the fact that he broke the law. It doesn’t matter how stupid you think it is, he knew what he was doing. He knew he would get caught. I’m just glad he said something before it got out.

I can only hope that he will be okay mentally. I hope this doesn’t stop him from doing what he loves. I sincerely hope he can recover from this and come back when he is ready.

And I can only hope that he truly knows that he will always have more support from Melodys all over the world than hate. I hope the members are also doing okay after hearing the news.

I believe in the BTOB family. I believe that all seven of them truly love each other no matter what.

Every time I think of Hanbin and what he had to go through I just feel so angry and so sad. I’ve been a fan of korean music/kpop since 2009, so I’ve seen my fair share of crazy and tragic events happening to idols. But it was everything that happened to Hanbin that made me lose majority of my interest in kpop, with the mvs, music, different fan interactions, shows, etc. I think it’s because I saw Hanbin from the beginning beginning. iKONICs saw him from his team b days where we saw this literal boy work harder than everyone else in the room. He is the epitome of grit and passion and determination and pure hard work. And he did all of this ON TOP of his innate talent as an artist and musician. So for him to get pushed down during a time when he was soaring and breaking literally every record? It was heartbreaking.

It hurt because he was being punished for a moment of vulnerability during a time when nothing was going right for him and his group. And it hurt even more because Hanbin actually overcame all the hardships and obstacles and came out so much better and stronger. Every iKONIC saw the day and night difference between pre-love scenario Hanbin and post-love scenario. And it wasn’t because of the huge success Love Scenario brought Hanbin, it was the clarity and perspective Hanbin gained in the process of making that entire album. He seemed to have found this calm and peace within himself and he genuinely seemed to just be there for a good time. But then because of stupid industry politics and narrow mindsets he was abandoned by the very people who should’ve fought so much harder for him. I think that’s what my anger and disappointment boils down to: they didn’t fight for him even when he was the one who deserved it more than anyone else.

So, yes I’m still hurt after all these years because sadly it’s changed the entire game for me. I can’t enjoy iKON the same way anymore and they were my favorites. I still love them and I will always support them but I can’t deny that they will always be incomplete now. A huge, if not the most important, part of who they are is Kim Hanbin and now he’s not with them anymore, and that will always make it seem like something’s missing.

I’m waiting for the day Hanbin returns because I very much believe he was put on this earth to make music and perform. You look at some people and you think they were born to be on stage, and Hanbin is one of those people. So many people think of Love Scenario and think ‘songwriter of the year my ass’ and that’s how you know those people don’t know shit about the lyrics of this song and the lyrics of literally every song he writes. In a world that can be so dark, Hanbin makes music that is very transparent about that darkness and yet allows space for hope and light because that is very much a reflection of who he is. He doesn’t take life so seriously, and yet acknowledges the difficulties people face whiling trying to survive. Hanbin’s music is honest and raw and light and amusing and intricate and layered and witty and just so good. So when he comes back, and he will, I want him to remind every single person what they’ve been missing. I want him to soar to heights greater than he’s ever been and I want him to be happy. He deserves the world, and I hope this world is kinder to him this time around.
