Domestic otayuri HC (that somehow became a short oneshot) time:
Otabek is not much of a TV watcher. In his free time, he mostly reads, listens to music and goes on the internet for social media and other stuff. Although, he has indeed a little hidden embarrassing passion nobody knows about.
One night, after going out for dinner and a few drinks, Yuri and him arrive at Otabek’s place. This is the first time the Russian boy is visiting him since they became “more than friends”. The blonde boy goes to the kitchen to grab something unhealthy to eat, while the other one waits in the living room. He puts a frozen pizza in the oven, takes a bag of crisps and a couple of beers from the fridge and thinks “Yakov doesn’t need to know”.
In his way to the living room, he stops at the kitchen door and sees that his (recent) boyfriend is taking off his leather jacket, tossing the shoes away and making himself comfortable on the couch. He blushes a little at the scene and, leaning his shoulder against the frame door, decides to stay there a little more, enjoying the view and thinking about what could it be the good thing he did in the past that made him deserve this boy.
Coming back to Earth from the Plisetsky daydreaming cloud, and to his surprise, Otabek had turned on the TV and he looked like he was searching for a particular channel, not noticing he was stared at. It took a while for Otabek to find what he was looking for, and Yuri knew he found whatever it was because of the smile on his face.
The Kazakh skater was not the most expressive person in the world, and his smile has one of the things reserved only for a few p...
*is he really laughing??!*
“-Beka, what are you wat..”
“-Hahahaha, OMG Yura, come see this. I’ve never seen this one before”
Yuri approaches cautiously his apparently-not-so-well-known boyfriend, trying to understand some of the words coming from the TV, unable to take his eyes off him.
“-I mean, nobody is THAT stupid! Who the fuck would need that!!!” - Said Otabek pointing at the TV and laughing a little more, making Yuri’s heart feel overwhelmed with a strange happiness.
Yuri sits down by his side, handing a beer to the other boy and staring at him without even blinking. He looks then at the TV and finds something that looks like a local Kazakh channel with some dubbed people trying to explain some stupid gadget.
As he starts to realize what was happening there, he begins to smile as well with a still incredulous look on his eyes.
“-I didn’t think you liked that kind of stuff.” - firs words that came to Yuri’s open mouth.
“-What? No! I mean... it kind of is, but the good kind of weird”
“-I’m glad you think like that, because this is literally the only reason I turn on the TV!” - said Otabek, with a big smile, letting Yuri speechless once again.
They stared at each other for a few seconds, and then leaned back on the couch, still watching the TV, one of Beka’s arms enclosing Yuri’s shoulders.
“-Don’t you think this is the funniest thing EVER?” - said Otabek, placing a gently kiss on his cheek.
That was the night Yuri Plisetsky knew about his boyfriend’s little dark disturbing passion for late night weird infomercials. And he loved it.
