The difference in the two is really based on Armie's portrayal for me. Marty's confidence wasn't for show or to hide anything. That confidence without affectation or pretense was what made him so sexy in that role. The man is a damn good actor. His subtlety and nuance make such an impact. Honestly just sending this in hopes you post another Armie as Marty gif 😁
Your wish is my command, Nonny 😉 and I very much agree with you!
One of my (embarrassing) childhood nicknames, and what my nephew now calls me, is Kiki so... imma need that footage of Armie saying “well done, Kiki” as an audio clip I can listen to 24/7 and also a video clip I can watch on repeat for the rest of time.
Armie Hammer as Marty Ginsburg On the Basis of Sex (2018), Dir. Mimi Leder
Crikey! They never miss a chance to play up the boys "ship", do they?
It is all in the casting
With Call Be By Your Name being one of the most buzzed about films over the last few years, Timothée and Armie spent a lot of time together, both on set and on the exhaustive promotional campaign and awards season the film required. Even now after the film has been put to bed and lauded world over, the two continue to spend time together. Just last month, Armie's wife posted a picture of the pair posing in London.
The casting here proves to be a nice full circle for this Hollywood grouping. Lily-Rose and Timothée were romantically linked at the end of last year, having met on the set of the Netflix film, Kings. However, the internet's dream coupling haven't been spotted together publicly this side of the new year.
On the Basis of Sex was so good. SO SO SO good.
RBG is even more of a legend that I could have imagined. I was crying 5 minutes in - and again countless times throughout. Especially the end.
Armie was spectacular. I found this to be his most natural and easy role. You see so much of him in this movie - and not goofball, Twitter-storm causing Armie, but smart, thoughtful, loving dad Armie. It was beautiful.
I’m even more shocked awards haven’t come their way now having seen it - I thought Felicity was GREAT. The Justin Theoroux character was fantastic.
They should all be VERY proud of the movie. I’ll gladly watch it again and again and continue to be inspired.
DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC.
Seeing OTBOS in half an hour. I really, really need a soft Armie today.
