Honestly.... Purely from an analysis perspective- I find it fascinating how the groom-y behaviors of Mike and Karen get glossed over while everyone jumps to bad faith conclusions about Henry despite there being much more to the story. And I think it's completely intentional on the part of the writers. The mf represents the victim that now victimizes people, still awful but it's interesting to consider the Carrie of it all. The wheelers represent being born affluent and privileged with a support system, just automatically assuming by default they are the heroes and good people without appreciation for what they have. The point isn't to glaze the villain but to put the heroes down a peg. Maybe a controversial opinion but that's what I think.

#I say this as a wheeler lover but that family is COVERED in red flags that gets completely ignored #the story is about who is bad and who is good #it's literally about looking in the mirror. it's about understanding that you are not inherently good bc you are more 'normal' than the #other guy #my personal opinion and this is not an excuse for the mindflayer #but the mindflayer comes off to me as a child #or childlike #when we see it speak through billy or Henry it doesn't come off as... idk? an intelligent adult like Vecna does #I think the mf is supposed to symbolise the victims who go onto perpetuate abuse. they are still Bad but these are the ppl we throw under #the bus in society #the wheelers represent the types who grow up safe and affluent #who exhibit these problematic Behaviors but we overlook them bc they are the Main Characters(tm)#it's very much taking the heroes of an 80s horror and reflecting the villain of an 80s horror off of them and showing that they are not #inherently GOOD people just because they were born good #or they think they were born good
