idk i love fandom sorry i do and i love fanfic i think its such a pure incredible thing. people writing and writing and writing for the love of the game. and im obsessed with fandom sociologically in terms of.......... woobification and when its not really about the text as much as it is about community.......... certain online fandoms where its truly about HOLLOWING out the text and then building your own house to live inside of it........... like gutting an old build and leaving the facade...........

marauders is so fascinating to me its almost goncharovian. sort of a pyramid scheme of a fandom where the people who got there first built the lore and this secondary mutated fandom got cobbled together around it......... FASCINATING ! but i didnt realise in my anthropological studies i would........... well......... its sort of............. im a bit like marlon brando in apocalypse now.............. and by that i mean im halfway through atyd.............. read it whilst recovering from the iron infusion................ mixed feelings but the author has a pretty good fucking handle on lupin's interiority................. like i do get it...........

honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before
