I've been tagged by the lovely @fauville to share some things I've been working on. I'm only going to start on Zuri’s birthday fic later tomorrow, so I'll share the two other fics I've been working on.
First is a rewrite of the book 3 scene that I've been talking about writing forever lol. It's in Adam's point of view, so I'm real nervous about portraying him properly. But so far so good, I think?
She is still wearing her shoes.
Among the many things there is to notice about the woman in front of him, her shoes are one of the first, for no reason other than how strange it is to see them now. Scuffed and covered in a layer of dust, they were not discarded at the door. They, alongside the vacant stare and slumped shoulders, have remained in their place since he found her amongst the rubble of that warehouse.
Next is the start of a fic of Zuri doing a whole lot of yearning while flicking the bean lol. I haven't gotten far yet, but I'll be right on it soon
Zuri isn't one for relationships. Not real ones. Her hands are clumsy with real things - they are wax, melting at the warmth of beating hearts and the heat of a body, living, breathing, feeling things. Fragile things that slip through her fingers and shatter to pieces. If she's lucky, the shards are big enough for her to fix it.
She doesn't find herself to be lucky often
