Today's Quotation: God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with. Billy Graham Today's Meditation: Giving to others is one of the most rewarding things available for us in life. I can give of my time and talents, I can give of my abundance, I can share of my compassion and love. Yet there is another way I can give, that although commonly overlooked, is vital to the effectiveness of giving... and that is being able to receive that which is given to me by others. Somewhere along the way, society has developed the idea that receiving from others is a sign of weakness, or creates a burden upon the giver. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Helping others in need is a wonderful feeling that should be shared and experienced by all of us. And when I do not allow another the opportunity to give to me, or I fail to show heartfelt thanks and gratitude when receiving, I am effectively robbing the other person of that same wonderful experience that I feel when I give to another. As Mother Theresa said, "we must give, but give until it hurts." We must also receive from others with gratitude and love, so that we can also give to them that joy which can only be attained through giving. Bless the hearts of those who give without expectation. And bless the hearts of those who receive with love... and continue the beautiful cycle of giving and receiving throughout this world. Today's Challenge: Give to another today, and receive back with love. Questions to consider: What are some of the places in which you formed your concept of giving and receiving? Why is it often times so difficult for use to receive from others? What would the world be like if we all were able to give and receive freely, without the constant worry of paying someone back or becoming a burden? For further thought: There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward. Khalil Gibran
If you feel discouraged, the solution might not be within your own head.
I understand that our Flag gives a freedom to do this, but what I want to know is if they are so concerned about the injustices going on, are they actually doing something to help. Kneeling is easy. Actually doing something is hard!

Was out in Seattle. Song came on and "Am I a part of the cure? Or am I part of the disease?" made me think while I drove past so many people sleeping on the street. Seeing people pass drugs between each other. Sharks feeding on fish in world. And what are my actions doing about any of this? Am I bettering the world? Or just being a distraction from all the shit that happens in it?
