Don't know if this has come up, but since the new part of Chapter 7 just dropped the other day, I just got hit with an idea on what Sebek's UM is or might be.

It's often a major joke that he is very loud and yells all the time. But what if that's because it's part of his UM that seeps out unconsciously? Like a sonic based attack or ability of sorts that doubles as a literal foghorn alarm clock (which is a nice parallel if you think about it since Silver is always sleeping). And if he's possibly twisted from Maleficent's lightning, what follows lightning? Thunder. And what happens when people are sleeping at night and there is a particularly loud thunder clap overhead? They wake up!

Also, think about it! In the second Halloween event, we find out that Sebek sings opera. And what is a common trope in media involving opera? Being able to break glass with your voice.

If my theory is right, Sebek's UM is meant to shatter the sleep spell around them because HE IS A LITERAL WALKING ALARM CLOCK!!!! 😂

I haven’t thought too much about what Sebek’s unique magic could be, but this is an interesting idea! Since unique magic is tailored to the individual, taking circumstantial evidence (personality, skills, etc) into account to predict the nature of it is fair. It’s similar to the line of thinking that leads many to suspect that Ace’s unique magic will be to copy others’ magic (since Ace himself is known to imitate his peers’ voices and picks up on new skills like dancing quickly; additionally, copying skills can be seen as a parallel to his mirror, Deuce, whose unique magic also relies on ‘borrowing’/using the power of others).

I like that this proposal for Sebek’s UM ties back to sleep and dreams, which seem to be very important for episode 7 given… recent events 😂 (I wonder if his loudness will actually be a plot point??? Imagine Sebek singing like a dejected Disney princess to save the day—)

I forgot where it was exactly, but I do remember reading a fairy tale retelling which featured a princess that was able to use her gift of song to disorient her enemies (literally by singing so high-pitched that it ruptured eardrums) and to summon animals to fight for her (though the latter sounds like a skill Silver would have, not Sebek). It’d be super coincidental if Sebek ended up having similar abilities due to the loudness of his voice.

Something I wonder is?? Not just what Sebek’s UM is but if he already has it or not!! He was apparently a late bloomer when it came to developing his general magical abilities, so I wonder if this also extended to his UM. Sebek seems to be perpetually locked in a state of identity crisis since he’s always holding up one half of his lineage and putting down the other half. Does this inability to accept and to recognize himself as he is preventing him from unlocking his UM…? Or has he already acquired it through sheer force of will and training??? I want to know so badly!! (If Sebek doesn't have his UM yet, it might also be interesting to see him and Ace bond over their feelings of inadequacy?? And then maybe unlock their UMs one after the other like Deuce and Epel did!)

I also think 🤔 Is Ortho able to acquire a UM…? Because it would be cool to see him also bond with Ace and Sebek over that detail! (I feel like those three, or at least Ace and Sebek, are still trying to figure out their identities and learning to be comfortable with who they are, thus perhaps leading to a lack of UM.) And do you know what that means???? 👀 It means we have a red (pink), green, and blue trio without their UMs… PINK, GREEN, AND BLUE LIKE FLORA, FAUNA, AND MERRYWEATHER, THE THREE GOOD FAIRIES…

Relationship Explanation Going Clockwise

Riddle: Camilla is very empathetic with Riddle’s situation with his mom, since she’s in a fairly locked in lifestyle as well. She often makes him sweets and has tea with him just to let him gripe and groan about anything. It’s pretty fun for both of them.

Ace: Camilla feels like Ace and Deuce are the brothers she never got, and she enjoys the havoc they can reap onto everyone. But over all, it’s just kinda nice to hang out with people her own age.

Deuce: Camilla feels like Ace and Deuce are the brothers she never got, but specifically she feels like Deuce is the younger brother she never had. It’s sort of therapeutic for the both of them to figure out how to basically start their lives from scratch.

Cater: Camilla and Cater are very much the “we’re friends because our friends are friends with them”. While they don’t actively hang out alone with each other, they enjoy each other’s company when they’re doing a group outing.

Trey: Camilla is friendly with Trey in passing, but he’s not really someone she’d actively seek out to spend time with. He’s nice enough though.

Leona: He’s... fine? Another person Camilla wouldn’t actively seek out since he seems to be in a bad mood a lot of the time. Though he’s good for griping about irritants that only royals understand.

Jack: If anyone is going to keep Camilla fitting into her ball gowns, it’s Jack. The two often hang out to go on jogs and hikes and talk about nothing and everything.

Ruggie: Again, he’s fine. He’s good to keep in mind for getting things that Camilla might want, in exchange for cash or food of course. But besides that they don’t really hang out.

Azul: Not only does Camilla not seek him out, but she actively avoids him. She believes whole heartedly that he is the epitome of the saying, “Life is pain; if anyone is telling you otherwise they’re probably trying to sell you something.”

Floyd: Another “friends because your friends with my friend”. Since he’s besties with her other princess friend, they often work together to encourage her to be more reckless. They also would both fight whoever tries to hurt their friend.

Jade: Besides hanging out with his brother, Camilla doesn’t really have a reason to actively seek Jade out. She’s one of the few people who are detail oriented enough to tell the twins apart.

Kalim: BEST. FRIENDS. FOREVER. They are chaos together, always hyping each other up and coming up with plans that Jamil would rather they not come up with. Once Camilla becomes queen, she plans on giving the Al-Asim family privileges in her home country to boost the economy.

Jamil: Yet another “friends because your friends with my friend”, despite Jamil insisting he’s not friends with Kalim. Though, to be fair, she does take his words of advice seriously. She likes dancing and cooking with him, and she has stated that if he needs to vent, she’ll listen; but he hasn’t taken her up on that.

Vil: Honestly? She has no relationship with him. They haven’t really talked and it seems like Vil avoids Camilla.

Epel: Surprisingly, another work out partner. While they do some Pomefiore approved stuff like ballet, they also go on jogs, hikes, and even push ups and pull ups together. Epel feels better around Camilla since she’s very much girlier than he is, so hanging out with her makes him feel more like the manly man he wants to be.

Rook: He’s kinda creepy in Camilla’s eyes. She has respect for someone else who doesn’t panic or get anxious in scary situations, but his flirty personality is a bit... much...

Idia: He’s her princess friend’s love interest, so of course they have to be friends. He supplies her with the game consoles and games that she couldn’t get at home, and in exchange she gives him eloquence lessons. She wants this relationship to work after all.

Ortho: Surprisingly, they’re not just friends because of his brother. The two of them are naturally compassionate people who tend to worry about their loved ones, and they usually spend time talking about stuff they did with their friends and family.

Malleus: Camilla does not call him Thornton or Tsunotaru, she calls him ‘tall fae friend’. That is until Lilia corrects her. They usually talk about life and the universe and stuff that Malleus doesn’t understand.

Lilia: The moment Camilla saw Lilia floating upside-down, she pleaded for uppies and practically crawled onto him. Even before they started dating, they were very cuddly after that. She has no reason to believe Lilia is lying about his age or what he’s done, despite the fact that it makes her look gullible. If Camilla had it her way, she’d skip out on marrying a prince and stick with her adorable fae grandpa boyfriend.

Silver: Yet another friend of a friend. She likes Silver, even though the idea of her dating his father kinda grosses him out; considering Camilla is younger than Silver. But they still have fun together.

Sebek: He is very not happy with Camilla dating Lilia; how dare some common human pursue such an amazing fae like Master Lilia?! But then he remembers that Lilia asked Camilla out, not the other way around. Camilla is nice to Sebek and even teases him, and Sebek... tolerates her.

(Yandere! Othro Shroud x Robo-Hellhound! S/o) (H/n) = Hellhound’s name

On some level (Y/n) had known from the start, that what she was only a cheap imitation. She’d seen the creature whose image she was meant to be a copy of albeit in miniature. The mysterious hellhound, (H/n), who was the apple of the older Shroud’s eye and had been what had driven him to build her for his younger brother. (Y/n) had yet to meet the boy who she’d been created for, young Othro who begged his brother to give him a companion of his to love and cherish. The robo-hellhound was also created to give (H/n) someone else who could watch over her and make sure she behaved when her owner and lover Idia could not be present. Of course (Y/n) loathed the thought of being used in such a way as a spy against someone who should be able to trust her fully. She wanted so badly to help the hellhound escape but to do so would go against the complex coding that had been so carefully programmed into her to make her the ideal partner for Othro. 

As if she wasn’t already being created to be his ideal partner physically: a blue fiery core, a sleek form covered in plastic plating with trillions of wires running underneath, and of course the more animalistic features he found so cute like a fluffy tail and canine ears. Like Pymalion carving Galatea she was to be his perfect woman whether she liked it or not. If for some reason she didnt like it… well thats what patches were for. Idia could always adjust and delete the traits that Othro disliked until all was as it should be.

So the days, the months really, flew by until the day finally came when the robo-hellhound was deemed ready and just by chance it happened to be Othro’s birthday so Idia put her into a box all nice and pretty. Bringing the birthday boy the present he’d been waiting so patiently for and being subsequently showered in attention by the young boy. It was more than just fear that kept (Y/n) on her best behavior. Oh no, despite being made of bots and nuts there were plenty of ways for her owner to torment her for bad attitude. Even more concerning than her own potential mistreatment was how her fellow captive (H/n) might be used to make a point. During the days spent designing her, she’d been conscious since the start and watched as the hellhound was punished through painful shocks with a collar not even fit for the nastiest dog imaginable. Coward that she was, the robo-hellhound was not willing to put the other girl’s safety in danger just so she could get herself away from her creator and the young robot. She was glad she had not been built with a stomach. For if she had she might have just thrown up all over the other presents that had been gifted to Othro and gotten herself into quite alot of trouble. As it stood she had to play sweet for the robot boy, wagging her tail, letting him toy with her ears, all so he’d not get his older brother involved in discipline. She might not be a real dog but she was starting to really take to heart the saying “its a dog eat dog world…” THE END

Like hear me out but has anyone noticed that Riddle's backstory got us super sad tears crying and don't get me wrong I was crying during Leona's too but his isn't as sad then you go to Azul's and it's eyes balling and then Jamil and it ain't as bad.

So all that to say is the pattern of backstory drama:

Super sad poor baby, then this is unfair he shouldn't be treated like this? If so then is Vil bout to be the poor baby that everyone will simp and stan again after we hear his super sad back story that everyone will cry about?

Leona wanted to rise up and win and be King and have his efforts noticed

Jamil wanted to rise from 2nd place and not bow down to Kalim anymore.

Vil: it could be super sad and I'm living for it more reasons to simp him

Idia: I'm not sure what could be his problem but if I don't get my Othro angst I'm gonna start a dumpster fire.

Malleus: Like if yall don't invite my baby somewhere and stop treating him like an outcast like he's been all his life I'mma I don't even know. But his is gonna be super sad already confirmed that I will be simping him hard after Diasomnia's chapter and have 20 times more inspiration to write for him.
