Some light Luka x Fenrir fluffy fluff hurt/comfort fan fiction.
This is a feel-good story with two of my favorite IkeRev boys, Luka Clemence and Fenrir Godspeed, completely SFW and extra sweet.
Fenrir leaned back onto his outstretched arms, sitting amongst the tall grass, hiding himself as he looked above at the clouds. The ends of his hair, periwinkle in color, danced with the wind around his heart-wrenching expression. The boisterous facade he works so hard to keep up around the black army headquarters had slipped, and a sad smile was displayed on his plump lips.
Luka Clemence had just finished setting out today’s lunch around the tables. All of the soldiers and staff had already begun eating and chatting like normal, grateful for the break in training. At the head table however, two chairs remained unfilled, Luka’s and Fenrir’s.
“Where could he be, he never misses lunch,” Luka whispered under his breath before turning away and quietly walking out of the dining room. The other men had noticed the missing Fenrir, but thought it best to let Luka check for him, as it wasn’t often that Luka would go out of his way to find someone on his own.
Back in the kitchen, Luka began packing up a small tote with food items. Two fruit sandwiches, a canister filled with tea, two mugs, and a ton of Luka’s hand-made sweets. Knowing Fenrir’s sweet tooth far surpassed anyone else in Cradle, Luka set out with the tote in hand, hoping to find Fenrir and enjoy lunch with him.
Fenrir heard a rustling in the tall grass behind him as slow tears dropped down his face, getting caught in the creases of his melancholy smile as they fell down. Realizing he had been discovered, but lacking the strength and speed to plaster on his facade before he was seen, he quietly spoke, “I’m not feeling very well right now, if you don’t want to catch something, you might want to turn around.” He hoped that feigning illness would stop the sounds of boots crunching in the grass.
No sooner than the last word left Fenrir’s lips, he saw a figure sit down cross-legged next to him. A delicious-smelling tote was set down in front of him and the figure next to him.
“You missed lunch, Fenrir,” Luka’s voice was quiet, and while his words could sound chastising, his gentle worry had slipped through in tone.
“I know,” Fenrir said, still looking at the clouds. “I’m sorry, Luka.”
“I’m not mad. I brought you treats.” Luka whispered as he began to watch the clouds pass through as well, noticing the calm rivers of tears on Fenrir’s cheeks as he gazed up. “Did something happen?” Luka asked as his eyes searched Fenrir’s expression, his head still turned up towards the sky.
Fenrir looked at Luka then, that half-smile lingered before saying, “No, not really. I’m just feeling really sad today, isn’t that silly?” Fenrir’s eyebrows creased together as he looked at Luka questioningly.
Luka grabbed the tote and rustled his hand around before taking a sakuramochi out. Fenrir’s jaw dropped ever so slightly, as if it was unbelievable that Luka had brought along one of Fenrir’s favorite treats.
Luka cashed in on this opportunity though, and stuck the treat in between Fenrir’s teeth before he could hear any complaints. As Fenrir began chewing the sweet, Luka smiled as he put his arms back to lean just like Fenrir had been, his voice filled with compassion as he said, “It’s okay to be sad sometimes, Fenrir.“
Fenrir’s eyes filled with tears once more, and he moved his hand on top of Luka’s as a more genuine smile appeared on his face. His long fingers squeezed Luka’s as he whispered, “Thanks, buddy.”
Luka smiled, and his long, dark hair shined in the sun. He looked like he was transported from a painting, serene and beautiful. Luka looked up at the sky again as he began to rest his head on Fenrir’s shoulder, “You’re welcome.”
Fenrir’s tears still trickled down his face, like honey, but he sat together with Luka feeling more content than he had in a while. There they were, Luka was smiling, his cheek a little smushed atop Fenrir’s shoulder, looking for shapes in the clouds. Fenrir, looking at Luka with a wistful smile, tightening his grip on Luka’s hand while he thought about how lucky he was to have a buddy like him.
