6. I'm not sure if it's my overall "favourite" but it's the one I think about the most so is there a difference? The reoccurring theme that gets me the most is probably the connection of memory & identity. Memory erasing plot points hurt as much as deaths because they feel like the same thing. We see Ten as John Smith, a new person created from the same template without any of The Doctor's memories, and an inverse when Jackson Lake believes he has become The Doctor because of trauma & cyberman mistakes. The Donna we know & grew with dies when the Doctor erases her memories. Clara gets incredibly defensive over hers, rightfully so, her memories are her Life. When The Doctor gets their memories of Clara back it changes them deeply & basically hits them so hard they regenerate. The Doctor's memories are incredibly important to Thirteen as well as The Master with the whole timeless child situation, they both take the news of an un-remembered history as massive threats to their identity. It hits me in small moments as well, when Jack tells Nine he'd rather not have met him. And again when Yaz tells Jack she wishes she'd never met The Doctor, but now The Doctor has become a focal point of his very existence and he knows she's the same for Yaz, that they'd both be very different people if they 'forgot' her. I also love how memory appears to not be able to be destroyed. You can bury it behind walls and in pocket watches but even then it bleeds into your dreams. Anyway. Yeah. Big fan of that.

11. Oh conflicts and misunderstandings. My go-to instinct of course is to sit Thirteen and Dhawan!Master down (probably tied up tbh) and go oh my god you thick fucks she's running from you because she's running from everything that makes her Feel and he's doing all of this because he needs so desperately to be Seen by you, perhaps even Held, on a good day. I think at this point they're both so tired they might actually listen if they weren't at a point where they both refuse to speak :/

14. Bestie you don't even know how many playlists I have. I need a playlist for my playlists. Fuck off <3 anyway I can't think of any specifics I haven't already told you about so I'm making everyone else hear about You and Your Friend by Snake River Conspiracy it's suuuchh a good sweet doctorjackrose song & a bop & i care about them :)

8. Oh mann, favourite Doctor outfit... I think I'm gonna have to go with the velvet blazer suit outfit from twice upon a time & the woman who fell to earth. Twelve and Thirteen both look sooo good in it and the way it changes for both of them with the ring falling off during regeneration and Thirteen taking the jacket on and off is a testament both to the outfit's versatility & the way the doctor changes and stays the same over time :) Also it's goth grandpa fashion which I adore.

12. Favourite Doctor romance...Otso you KNOW we have a fucked up time trying to define what a romance is with the Doctor...That being said, I think in the most straightforward terms of romance, The Doctor and River's arc is probably one of my favourite tragic romances conceptually and they carry so much unique range because we got their story for such a long time across 3 different regenerations. That being said there are a lot of places for improvement with the writing.

BUT being me I will always come back to thoschei as a ground zero for Doctor ships because they're IT, MAN!!! They've been doing this so long they can absorb so many tropes and themes and their evolution from classic to nuwho is so interesting to me from a media studies perspective + I love those fucked up old queers with each and every one of my bones.

17. Favourite alien species! This might be basic but they're iconic for a reason. I love the ood! The concept of a species allowed to evolve in such a vulnerable state with their brains in their hands is so wholesome. It reminds me of some of my research on native biology in Hawaiʻi, the natural history of the islands before human contact included essentially no predator species because the condensed set of species on the islands all worked together in a system that didn't require them to evolve any defensive characteristics, which is just a cool and sweet reminder that nature doesn't always equal brutality :)

I also appreciate Time Lords and a pseudo-species because I like it when stories go "what if there was a really fucked up guy"
