tbh most sex ed type stuff i see seems way more concerned with conveying the Correct Method for [pleasure/intimacy/consent/kink/flirting/birth control/std prevention/etc] than it does with conveying that sex should be a mutually empowering and fulfilling experience for everyone involved, whatever that means to them. like im including a lot of leftish, queer-positive, kink-positive sex ed stuff here. a lot of it seems more concerned with "intimacy is when you have one of these specific emotional dynamics" or "consent is sought and expressed in these ways" or "the intention of participating in kink should be this goal" over, like, the idea that good sex is whatever interactions you and your sex partners have that leave you both with positive relationships to your selfhoods/bodies/all that good stuff and in which you do not feel the burden of pressure or performance. like if what youre saying isnt leaving room for, like, sex work to include good sex, what are you even doing shelving it under sex-positive feminist sex ed. idgi basically.
