yep lol I can read/understand basic Japanese so sometimes I dream of living there but A: holy shit the work culture and B: I have chronic illnesses as well as mental illness and some of my meds are literally illegal there lol. OH WELL.
Man, yeah- the mental health care there so terrible too- and the stigmas are even worse.
Sorry for the long wait! I've been really excited to answer these asks but here they finally are. ^^ Maybe I’ll try doing them more individually now so I can answer them asap. <3 Thank you for your patience.
Answers under the cut!
@aproxy-moron @anon @blueheroghostbakery Thank you for your interest! If ever you would like to be a part of the VA team, you can send me a DM of your kind-of-application with a sample of your work. I’ll include you in a kind-of list of candidates, and then will contact you and let you know if the character needs a VA. Qualifications would include capturing the character’s personality, an a-okay microphone, and last but not least commitment.
I look forward to working with you <3
@packook Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it. Hopefully, episode 2 won’t take too long anymore, as I’ve been working on getting better equipment. I’ll try looking into him, and oh! Thanks for the Ko-Fi! I’ll really consider a Patreon soon. Thanks again!
@marbledmegu Oh! Thank you! I’m as excited as continuing this journey. ^^
@ember78 For now I just have a Ko-Fi! But I’ll be considering that. Thank you!
@trans-benrey here Hugo!
@otterbeans I’m afraid not! I didn’t manage to upload here but maybe I’ll share the link if you’d like.
Thank you anon! We’re looking forward to working on ep 2, and will try to make it as best as can be.
Si, si! Gracias, anon! That’s good to hear. I really love creating content, and hearing that it brings happiness is very wonderful.
@ryifenix Thanks so much! ;;^;;
Thank you! About coming up with poses, first it starts with a thought, or a feeling. Then I work towards that. Let’s say I’m feeling intense atm, which inspires me to draw, and I try to make the art convey the feeling of intensity by how the poses are made. Try to feel your art, be one with it. That sounds weird, but it works!
For practicing anatomy, I strongly suggest, first tip, observing the people around you. You’ll start to notice how the body does its thing. How do people look when they sit down? How does the fat on the legs press against the chair, those kinds of things.
Second tip, study the fundamentals, the so-called bean, then some figure drawings.
Third tip, break down the body parts! It would help you understand proportion and where the bends are.
You can also look up on Youtube for tutorials. I personally watch Proko, moderndayjames, and Ethan Becker. And I study how kibbitzer on DeviantArt breaks down anatomy. Hope this helps!
A fullbody, full color design commission for @otterbeans ! + the practice sketch coz he’s a cutie :> He’s in the Golden Deer house, can’t you tell? =v= Thank you for commissioning me, dear!
it's totally not fair that japan (I've seen a couple of collab cafes in Korea too I guess) is the only place with any sense of whimsy when it comes to adults doing silly cute stuff. Like come on. Do you know how much I would pay to eat at the Kirby Cafe? It's the most fuckin' adorable thing I've ever seen AND people have said the food was really tasty too.
I'm no pro on JP culture- (as my interest in it really only extends to the food and a handful of media franchisees) and I'm sure others are more researched and even have lived experience-- but from what I understand, I think it's a swinging response to the absolutely toxic and deadly work culture + collectivist(?) culture. that stuff was able to create a unique environment for those sorts of things to flourish (example: pop idol worship is way more intense in asian countries vs celebrity worship here in the west). Like, here in the states where our individualism + hyper capitalism warping and molding western culture into a weapon to maximize profits via "the american dream" tends to skew american interests--- also TV regulations varying so wildly as well as the states unionizing our animation industry where japan did not (and underpaid/overworked workers = more anime) so animation didn't get to play as fundamental a part part in our collective development + was only really sponsored by established studios or toymakers.
Also WW2 didnt help. or religion. or sexism. the countries size disparities + traversability of settlements. how each country's realationship with expansionism and how land is handled. and I SWEAR it's all relevant to pop up cafes 'cause it influences how we act as a community and how we absorb and treat media and also the success and accessibility to media each generation had. I swear I could even link food quality laws in somehow and I don't even want to start thinking about the industrial revolution.
and shonen jump. god it all links back to shonen jump i swear to god-
it's a lot and GOD i hope im making sense. There's so many factors it's infuriating honestly i'm kinda getting a headache mapping it all out mentally. cause I feel like I could spend another few hours dissecting and researching.
tldr: I would be so fucking happy if I could go to themed pop up cafes and not have it be week long endevor
it's probably worth many many more pennies, esp considering the first parts were free too.
Toby Fox probably has so much money from Undertale he doesn't know what to do with it all lmao. Since he made that game on mostly on his own all the profits went straight to him. He probably just pays his employees with the profits Deltarune is getting right now.
