I’m not crying at 1:40 am. I AM NOT.
wow Henry sure came a long way
It was kind of bothering me that this scene is so short (but still so powerful) so let me just quickly break it down. Robin was just informed by her aunt and her mother that there is a coven of some of the most dangerous witches in the area who are up to something unknown. She knows about the threat and the first thing she wants to do is to rush off to warn Alice. Except she doesn't say Alice because of course OUAT wants a nice ol' shocker when we see who Alice's love is. But who knows that the end of that sentence is definitely going to be Alice? Zelena. THAT MEANS that Robin has talked about Alice enough for Zelena to know right where her daughter's sentence is going (I'm literally so here for the Zelena/Robin bond. Sorry, getting distracted). But just imagine Robin rushing home from a date or anniversary with Alice and just being excited from spending time with her love and instantly spilling it all to Zelena. The other thing is, the coven is literally out and plotting. It's been established. But who is still ready to risk life and limb for love? Robin Pistachio Mills, that's who. I think this shows a lot about her, especially my biggest personality theory: that she inherits her charm and romanticism from her dad. I'm betting she's gonna be the type of person who if Alice mentions craving an apple, she's going to chop down an apple tree so Alice can have as many apples as she wants. Just because Robin hasn't had too many lines doesn't mean we can't see her character shine through.
Oh um also happy new year's eve to everyone who's decided to start following me in the past week. I'm literally sitting in the corner of my basement writing this while my family does the whole.... New Year's celebration thing. Sorry if this is too many words, I err have a lot of emotions and thoughts I would want to put out into the world.
Every time Regina or Zelena or someone equally good and pure gives up on their happy ending to do a good thing™, because “that’s what heroes do”, I want to make them t-shirts saying “WE ARE VILLAINS AND WE ARE PROUD” and make this the new motto of the show and give them back their basic human right of being selfish.
You know what makes me sad about S7? We finally get S1 stuff (literally this is the same story and dynamics but that’s beside the point)—actual characters and plot in town WITHOUT magic and saviors and heart-ripping and poof-ing and mcguffins and exaliber and snow monsters and talismans and portals and the underworld and whatever other shiny thing the writers felt they needed to keep us entertained when really all most of us wanted was to watch our characters, not an out-of-control plot on speed.
I wish we saw more of this with the characters we love.
If you're expecting a last minute heartbreak for either her or Killian though, you'll probably be disappointed. Colin O'Donoghue made it clear that this episode would honor the Captain Swan relationship in the best way before sending Emma off for good.

My biggest far is that some of my favorite writers(you as well) will just stop writing for Captain Swan all together in favor for the new pairing and all of the sudden hate CS. IDK, i just feel this way.
Look noni noni, I won’t stop writing CS, but that doesn’t mean I won’t write something else... if you check my page, I have written TinkerHook, both AU and canon versions of them. I don’t know what is going to happen, tbh, but I think you also need to understand and respect a writer’s want/need to explore other options as well. I have systematically written CS for more than 3 years at this point. 3 years, 20 multichapters, 90+ oneshots, and I think at least 20 or 30 gifset/picsets. I think it’s been a good run... don’t you? I might want take a breather for a while. It doens’t mean we don’t like the ship anymore, it’s just that sometimes people want to explore something different, especially after years of writing the same ship.
In all fair honesty, chances to make me despise be relunctant to CS lie more with some portions of the fandom than with the show doing a new LI for an alternative version of Killian.
I’m also sure that you wrote this message with the best of intentions, but I have to be honest, it came off as if I owe you (or others) to continue writing CS fanfiction and I don’t owe anyone anything when it comes to my writing. It’s mine to do for fun and to give to others if they want... but I’m in no obligation to keep on writing something.
