Stopped watching ouat since season 4, so I didn't remember there are jekyll and hyde in this show.

Their character design are pretty good!

i got so hyped with these two on the show but i stopped watching it bc i had the feeling they were going to die and of FUCKING COURSE THEY DID, I CRIED FOR OVER AN HOUR

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 6x04 Strange Case

Yay! Jekyll and Hyde centric! I am not ready for the end!

Lol. Why does Rumple need a reason to get a haircut? I miss the longer hair.

Hyde and Split Queen working together is fun!

Big freaking Ben, who has been late for 12:00 am on New Year's Day for the past 3 flipping years!

Aww David cooking pancakes for his bby girl. 

There’s something incredibly sexy about David making pancakes. I’m not a fan of pancakes with fruit in but the plain ones look delicious and so does he ;).

Poor Mary didn’t deserve what happened to her. Do these events occur before, after or during the time Alice from ouatiw is checked into Mary’s father's asylum? If it’s after, it could explain why he’s so cruel to Alice. Though, of course, it’s not an excuse! Dude tried to give the girl a lobotomy! Okay, this is before Alice was checked in. That explains his cruelty a bit more, I think.

I love that they brought Dr. Lydgate from ouatiw into the main show. It’s a nice way to tie into ouatiw and to tell us we’re in the Victorian England realm.

Rumple! Okay, that was out of order trapping Belle on that ship. A bit too controlling for my liking. And it ultimately could have resulted in Belle’s death! 

Tell him Belle! She’s not one of his objects! Jeez.

Aww! Snow and Henry walking together at school. So sweet! 

Jasmine! How does she know about Snow White? I’m really confused about the location of Agrabah. Ouatiw made it look like it was right next to Wonderland. But then, I suppose the White Rabbit could have made portals there. But why would he? Also, do all rabbits have the abilities to create portals or just him? Okay, so apparently Agrabah is across the desert from Eric’s maritime kingdom. But that was said by Jafar disguised as Eric so could be a lie. I’m very confused as to if it’s part of the EF like Camelot and Dunbrock or its own realm.

Also, in 7x22 the endless deserts of Agrabah were Snow’s worst nightmare realm in her book. That’s where she could have been trapped. 

Why are they making out like Snow hasn’t been a teacher for ages? She was seen teaching in season 4b!

Regina (about Belle): “it’s always out of one prison and into another with her.” Yes, exactly! Poor Belle! And that is no thanks to you, Reggie!

Oooh. Hyde looks very dapper. He cleans up nice!

A beckoning spell? Why not just a tracking spell. 

That’s who Jekyll looks a bit like: Harry Hastings from Jeopardy! They couldn’t be more different in personality though!

How would Jekyll’s serum in SB affect Split Queen and Hyde though?

Mary is so into Hyde. I can’t blame her! 

Hyde really tried to get Mary to like Henry. You can’t say he didn’t try!

She is so lucky, getting to passionately make out with Hyde! I like that she wants to rebel against social norms and feels free to do that with Hyde. It’s a good ship!

David! Oh no! Hyde, I love you but don’t throw my David like that!

Mary must be so confused waking up next to a different man. I guess the serum must wear off after a while. 

Oh my God, Jekyll no! You’re gonna hurt her! This is what I call obsessive infatuation. He has a complete inability to allow her the freedom to love whoever she wants. He wants her to be his or no ones. And that is incredibly dangerous.

Poor Mary!

It just goes to show that splitting off from your ‘dark side’ with the serum is an illusion. It merely forms a manifestation of what you believe your ‘dark side’ to be like. It doesn’t separate your personality at all, I believe.

And then he makes it look like it was poor Hyde. 

Belle’s getting suspicious. And she can’t get out of there!!

Belle’s like: “sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t.”

Honestly Belle should have just pretended to indulge him. I understand that she didn’t feel safe but trying to call Killian right in front of Jekyll was not a good idea. She could have waited a bit and smiled along, then said she was going to the toilet or something and could have covertly brought the shell with her and quietly called for help there. I’ve given this a lot of thought, but she probably just panicked, which is understandable. Although, all that could be inferred from him saying “she would be mine,” is that he’s possessive.

Oh snap! She stabbed him with the shell!!!! Omg! I completely forgot about that!

For God’s sake, Jekyll! Don’t hurt Belle!

Oh no, Hyde!!! They killed them way too quickly! I miss him already!

Rumple, you freaking messed up!

Rumple really like strangling Hyde, lol!

Poor Hyde. He misses Mary! 

Oh, he contacted Jekyll to separate his feelings for Belle back then. 

Belle is so done.

“You didn’t cut your hair for me, you cut it for you.” can’t a dude just cut his hair without some deep, profound reason, lol!

Now he’s threatening her!! The audacity! “If you want what’s best for him, you will come back to me.” Wtf Rumple! This rings too true to what so many people are like in reality! 

Belle: “threats won’t make me love you again Rumple.” Rumple: “No. But necessity will.” What if she doesn’t want to love him??? Doesn't she get a choice?! Give Belle agency 2021! 

Snow hates apples. Understandable!

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 5x23 An Untold Story

I cut my thumb on a tap somehow and it started bleeding a surprising amount and since we don’t have plasters my mum wrapped it in a sanitary towel, so now I’m just walking around with a pad finger lol. So, it’s hard to type this!

Omg has Hook had a haircut?! Thank the Lord! Though not sure when he got the chance.

Regina (about Zelena): “I don’t wanna lose one more person I love.” Awwwww!

Is Hyde just invulnerable to magic or does he absorb it, allowing it to boost his strength, a bit like Sebastian Shaw (though Shaw mainly converts kinetic energy. He can absorb magical energy as well though!).

Wow. destroying magic was that easy, huh? Tamara and Greg take notes!

omg they look so terrifying when they’re splitting! and it looks so painful!

Hyde my dude, if Jekyll dies, you die! It’s like Dragon Heart!

So, he’s invulnerable to magic but not Killian’s hook? I mean Sebastian Shaw could still be cut so I guess that checks out.

This episode is really freaking hard to hear. There’s so much background noise! It’s probs just my auditory processing disorder but I don’t usually struggle so much with this show. Maybe something went dodgy with the sound editing?

Oh! Rumple lied about Storybrooke being destroyed if it was without magic!

Emma still has a hint of the Dark One voice, and it makes me want to pull my hair out!!

How does Rumple know about the Dragon and how did the dragon survive?

Is the dragon a telepath? I mean he says he sees a battle inside of Regina. I think he definitely has precognitive abilities because he knows it’s imperative Regina wins the battle. He must know her dark side is about to be released.

I know they’ve totally retconned the land without magic in this episode. Not sure about how I feel about the change overall but I do like the idea that there is magic in this world. You just have to know where to look for it or believe hard enough. I’m no longer a person of faith but if there’s anything I would want to have faith in it’d be magic. The idea gives me hope sometimes.

It’s interesting that the darker versions of people who take the serum are, according to Jekyll, whatever the mind imagines them to be. So, in a way, Hyde and Split Queen are products of Jekyll’s and Regina’s imaginations. And that’s why Jekyll still has darkness in him even as Jekyll. The two sides are not split in half between good and evil. He simply got rid of his imagination’s idea of the evil in him. He never saw forcing Mary to love him as evil and so that part of him didn’t leave with Hyde. As a meta I recently read said, Regina imagines her evil half to dress like the Evil Queen, to be seductive and to constantly seek revenge on Snow White and to want Henry for herself and thus, that’s the part of her she splits off. Is it gone forever? Who can say! But it explains why Split Queen is so different to the Evil Queen we know from previous seasons. It’s a comical reflection of the character, suggesting that Regina sees, intriguingly, sees her evil half as almost comical. Perhaps because at the time the Evil Queen reigned it was almost as if she was playing a game and having fun all the while.

Yes! Finally, she’s saying “what I did.” We got there!

Regina taking the serum was such a bad idea. It’s as if the Charming’s have separated her into two people to reconcile the harm she’s caused them. That is surprisingly realistic. I grew up with someone with an extreme Jekyll and Hyde personality and the only way I could cope was to separate them into two because they were all I had. Their kind side could be my best friend, while the other side hurt me deeply, mentally, emotionally and physically more than anything else. I’ll never get those years of perpetual fear back, but the kind side has almost completely won out these days, much like Regina this season. The only way for me to let go of the anger and sadness from the past is to see the horrible side as someone that’s been split off and is gone forever. I would not even be able to talk to my mum again if I saw her as the same person. It’s probably a very unhealthy way of coping but I understand where Emma and especially Snow are coming from. They want that side that hurt them, almost ruining their lives and taking away previous years they’ll never get back to be gone forever and separated from a woman they love and care about.

No Snow, honey, don’t blame yourself! You didn’t help bring the Evil Queen into the world. At the end of the day, she was the result of ultimately Regina’s choices.

Split Queen seems to be trying to stay inside Regina.

The EQ looks so sad that Regina would actually take her heart.

Why did she turn to dust?

Oh crap! The sanitary towel on my thumb is unravelling! Noooooo!!

I don’t think towns work like that.

How did Hyde and the people from the LOUS get to Storybrooke? Oh! I guess with the wand!

Yeah, I think the Dragon is somehow immortal because he comes back even after Split Queen crushed his heart. Why was his immortality never explained?! Oh! Oh wait! She didn’t crush his heart! I was imagining things!

Season 5 is over! Thank the Lord!! I feel such a sense of relief!

And, just like that, Belle knows this guy is bad news. She knows she’s in trouble and she calmly and quietly goes about finding a way to get herself out of trouble.

One little word and she sees what’s going on. She’s so perceptive, so clever.

I love the way she’s looking at him. She’s thinking he’s an arse for being possessive when Mary didn’t want him.

I love this woman :)

Is anyone else surprised they offed Jekyll and Hyde so early?

Because I sure as hell am! I thought they’d be around for a while, so it’s surprising that they’re gone so quickly. I suppose we have Aladdin coming along, and probably Jafar also, so he’ll probably be the next person the Evil Queen teams up with.

It’s a good thing in a way, because it’s different from what we’ve had before, with the big bad taking over the entire arc. Getting rid of Jekyll and Hyde shows that the focus really is on the core characters. Even with Aladdin et al coming along, I still think that. Aladdin’s story is connected to Emma’s, so it looks like the focus will remain on the core group. Good.
