Would the 07-Ghost characters prefer calling or texting?
Teito would prefer calling, either voice calling or video calls. He finds it really hard to read tone in text and he’s not the greatest at wording things in letters or words, so he stumbles a lot in his own texts to people. He can never quite get across what he wants to say in text as well as he can on a phone call. Video calls with him tend to be the longest, but he can handle long phone calls too – he just finds it very soothing to see or hear the people precious to him.
Ayanami prefers phone calls. He hates texting – he fat fingers the buttons for one and for another, he just finds it very inefficient. He can accomplish a lot more with a phone call than a text. His phone calls are very brief and almost business-like. He calls with a specific purpose in mind, not just to chat and once that purpose has been accomplished, he wants to get off the phone as soon as possible. There’s no amount of technology that will be better for Ayanami than seeing someone in person.
Frau is pretty fine with either, honestly. Both of them have their place with him. He likes texts to check in and especially for sending and receiving pictures. However, if he’s really missing someone or wants to have an actual conversation, he’d prefer calling. He prefers video calling, as he likes seeing someone’s face when he’s talking to them and he’d take a ten-minute video call over an hour-long phone call – he finds he gets more out of even the short video call than he does over a lengthy phone call.
Labrador’s actually really bad with technology. He would have a phone but he’d often forget about it and he’s always running on very low battery or just lets it die. He doesn’t really think about it often and he doesn’t like to use it unless he has to. He’d rather talk and spend time with his important people in person.
Castor prefers texting in most cases. He’s actually really good with his words, so his texts are always written with proper grammar and are nice to read. He uses emoji’s sparingly but does use them to help him convey his tone. If something’s really serious though or if it’s something he feels is too private to risk anyone seeing the texts, he will call people.
Mikage texts a lot. Like A LOT. He uses a lot of text speak, so some people might have troubles reading his texts and he uses a lot of emoji’s and gifs. But it’s not his most often used form of communication – that would be Snapchat, where he’ll send snaps constantly and it will mean something for him to keep his Snap streaks up with those close to him.
Hakuren texts and calls in pretty equal measure. He’s bad for text spamming – he’ll send lots of short messages and check-ups, along with pictures or videos of interesting things he’s seen. He’ll call those important to him pretty often too, at least once a week when they’re apart or if they haven’t been able to spend time together in person, because he really does need and rely on that time together, even just a phone call, with those important to him. He tends to worry about his important people when he’s not with them, and those phone calls, which can get lengthy, help ease that worrying streak of his.
Ouka loves it all. Texts, snaps, video calls, phone calls – she’s just happy to be talking to her friends, family, any of her loved ones. She lights up whenever she gets a call or a message from them. However, she’s very polite in her phone usage. If she’s spending actual time with someone, no matter if they’re someone she knows well or someone she’s just meeting, she puts her phone on silent mode and doesn’t check it out of respect for the other person. She knows the messages will be there when she does check it or that she can return phone calls. What she can’t get back is that in-person time with others.
Lance is all about the video calls. He’s also really bad when he discovers Snapchat. Those who have added him will wake up to so many snaps of him because he takes a lot of selfies that he feels must be shared with everyone – he just looks that good in them, after all. Video calls with his friends and loved ones also means that not only do they get to gaze upon him, but he also gets to see their beloved faces. It feels more, to Lance, like they’re actually spending time together than just a phone call does.
Hyuuga is big on texting and on Snapchat. He sends a lot of memes and shitposts to his friends and acquaintances, anything he sees that he finds amusing or funny. He’ll send a lot of pictures of things he finds amusing or interesting too – a new restaurant opened and he wants to check it out? He’s taking a picture of it (and a snapshot of an online menu if he can find one) and he’s sending it to his friends or loved ones to see who will come with him. He watches someone fall doing a skateboard trick and he’s found it hilarious? You can bet he’s had his phone out and been videoing it and sends it along. He’s bad at spam texting people if he really wants their attention. He doesn’t often do phone calls, but when he does, they’re always at the weirdest times. Legit, this is a man who will call someone at 3 a.m. because he had the weirdest dream and he wants to tell them about it (also, that person’s frustration at being woken up might amuse him). Oddly, his phone calls always seem to come in at the worst time for the other person and he will not get off the phone with them – his phone calls, when they come, tend to drag on and be nonsensical.
Konatsu adapts his communication methods depending on the person he’s communicating with. If he knows they prefer texts or finds that they return texts quicker than phone calls, he’s going to use texts as his primary method of communicating with them. With people like Ayanami, who prefer phone calls, he calls them instead, though his phone calls tend to be short and to the point.
Razette texts for obvious reasons. She’s a very chatty texter, who uses a lot of cutesy emojis and gifs to express her emotions. She’ll leave people with walls of text to read, but always assures them that they can take their time replying or that they don’t have to reply at all. She was just feeling something or had seen or done something that she really wanted to share with them.
