AH! New evil lair! Jackpot!
I'll tell you whatever you wanna know! Just hand over the deed and keys to that place, and I'm all yours!
what is ur ideal useful person
Hmm... Probably somebody gullible. I will not be giving any specific examples.
Since I really want that house, I'll answer all your questions - whether or not the answers are satisfactory was never part of the agreement! You should have been more specific~
Moving on...
tell me a secret abt nagi-sama
You want a secret about my servant? What for?
I mean, the guy is like, disturbingly upfront about stuff most of the time. He'll just tell you things directly - I dunno if he even has any secrets..?
...Or maybe even I don't know them? You think he's got some nefarious, bastardly stuff he's keeping hidden from everybody, including me..?
Do you think I should be scared of him? Do you think Nagito will hurt me someday..?
...
Oh well, that's life! You win some, you lose some! It would be my bad luck for getting close to him willingly, huh? Whatever he does to me, I guess I would deserve it? Neeheehee~!
Last one: this is all you get, then you gotta pay up! We have a deal~!
can u give me some advice
My advice is... Never lend anything you want back. If you're gonna let somebody borrow it? Just kiss it goodbye. That applies to anything - money, possesions, whatever.
Never lend money you can't afford to lose. Never lend an item that means anything to you, because anything can happen. It could get "misplaced", broken... Never lend out something that actually matters to you.
Hey, it's time for the prizes for this poll! Are you ready?
Here they are: the giftbags that got unlocked from that event! Nice!
Thanks to everybody who participated!
Still working on decorating the event room, by the way... It'll probably change a lot - it's hard to decide how things should look...
I guess if they're different every time, it means it won't get boring in here, right?
Maybe you'll even want to come back when there isn't an event on, just to visit with me? Heh.
Just kidding - you might come back to see how the room looks. That's fine, too.
...
Anyway, let's check the contents of the giftbags, shall we..?
First up is the 'completely accurate, definitely-not-a-lie factoid about Keech': he is definitely the Matchmaker AU's Despair Successor!
This one changed a little from the original random trivia I was going to give - a couple of people asked me to explain something from today's morguecritter post for his unlocked secret.
You might have caught some things here and there that suggested something wasn't right about him--
More than usual, I mean.
The hints may have been difficult to be sure about, given how often he lies or even tells the truth in a misleading way. Really difficult to be completely sure about that guy, huh?
Anyway, most of what he said was correct, more or less - he was the one who delivered Junko's conversation records and diary entries to the public after the incident... He did stretch the truth a bit when he claimed he only skimmed them - he actually read quite a bit of it, enough to find out her plan of eventually sacrificing herself with the intention of starting the despair that would never end.
That was the plan, anyway - it got cut extremely short, as you may know. She hadn't built up anywhere close to the momentum she needed to accomplish that.
Getting that much of a look at her true character, however... That awful bond she could forge with people? It worked and also did not work on Keech - he didn't want to work with her. Her influence was getting to him, but he was not interested in being her errand-boy - she was his rival in a few ways.
He loved the idea of becoming an all-powerful commander of his own legion of destruction - but he was not interested in doing all that work on someone else's behalf. He wants to pull the strings and set up the machinations - Junko's personal hand-picked cabinet of Despair Leaders were too happy to become her pawns, and that wouldn't work at all for Keech.
It's already pretty difficult for him to command respect - which he does use to his benefit quite frequently, the way he's constantly underestimated, I mean - but being a henchman would never work for him.
Despite his feelings, he was getting influenced by the things he read while he was chopping up the contents of her diary posts and conversations - making her look like a total, uncharismatic demon.
Everyone was shocked and saddened at first, until the files were released - they got this completely dishonourable glimpse at her plans, with all of the 'Junko loves you' content removed - intentionally.
He was suffering with it all, the things that impacted her special-selected cabinet of Despair Leaders and convinced them to trot along eagerly behind her.
He... Saved the world, if you think about it? What if everybody really had received the completely unedited version of her documents?
Creepy to think about, huh~?
Unfortunately, he can't remove the influence from himself as easily as he can edit it out of her files. He spared millions from succumbing the way he had and couldn't spare himself.
Now, that's where our story really reaches a hairpin-curve: have you ever noticed just how oddly possessive Keech is over Nagito? Peculiar, right?
He was already a controlling individual, but it seemed to get amplified after this specific event took place - the obvious reason is because Nagito is simultaneously compliant, but also kind of a badger. He'll follow orders but won't do it well, he'll mock anybody without hesitation - it's one of the reasons why Keech finds him so entertaining.
Keech's intense love for being entertained only became more deeply-ingrained following his indirect contact with Junko - causing him to become almost terrifyingly territorial over this 'definitely not boring' person.
Nagito loves it, of course - he's used to being avoided and disliked, so having somebody that infatuated with keeping him around is a wonderful change of pace.
You may have noticed - or maybe you didn't, it's ok - but Keech has an extreme weakness for getting backed into a corner. He once had a dream to get vanquished by some hero and forced to start behaving himself - it was connected to his affection for getting overpowered. He hated that about himself, it was such a stupid weakness to have, but he didn't pick it - it picked him.
Junko's influence aggravated his affection for it - he loved pretending like he'd been defeated before, but it suddenly stopped being pretend. He found that he wanted to get forced into submission, even if that submission was final - if you catch my meaning.
Even the fact Nagito was so stuck on hope while Keech was rotting from despair was hideously fun - Keech was helping forge these bonds, doing something almost selfless when he was the most selfish person he knew of. Isn't that so beautiful?
In summary: he read enough of the documents to be effected by Junko's influence, heavily redacted them to make her look as terrible as possible (without leaving a shred of the infectious 'love despair' material), but his interaction with all of it left him one of the few that had been affected by her.
Between being incapable of telling the truth and hating being predictable, he'll fight against his own urge to cause genuine harm - as long as his emotional support cryptid is safe, of course.
...
Now, onto the 'bit of gossip about Nagito that has the potential to be interesting'. You ready?
...
By the way, do you like my poster? It's special, heh. The text on it says 'Lucky' in a fictional working alphabet called Charmi - I invented it myself!
It's highly efficient - as you can see, it reduced 5 characters down to two... The only problem is I have no idea how many individual characters there are in the entire alphabet, including the tone modifiers, drivers, and accent characters.
It has to be in the hundreds, though... How many hundreds, I'm not sure.
Anyway, nobody asked but Nagito has a lot of dreams about cleaning out a closet.
The house the closet is in is one he's lived in before, but the closet is larger than it should be, and contains a lot of items he's never seen before. The entire dream is just sorting through the contents, trying to tidy it up, and he can never finish by the time the dream is over.
One time a school nightmare and the closet nightmare collided - he needed to try to finish cleaning out this strange, unfamiliar closet before he had to leave (before his forcible enrollment into Hope's Peak - they let him know they wouldn't accept a refusal out of him, they were determined to study his luck in particular)... So he's digging around in this massive, unrecognizable closet, he's going to be late--
Wonder what that means?
One time there was a closet inside the closet, heh. There was a door inlaid in the interior wall, and that door let to... More closet. That closet was more like an entire new wing of the house though, one that didn't have any lights or windows.
I feel like this is probably important, somehow.
Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks for participating in the event! Come back whenever you want, ok? See you later!
