It’s always a tough time to be queer and a minor, but you aren’t alone, and this blog is here to remind you that. We are in it to together, mate.

Des sent us a link on how to make lightbox viewers. They were a bust though. That’s all I could see in one. (Pic 1)

Pics 2&3 - we used a pinhole in a paper plate and got a pretty good miniature. This shows pre-totality (crescent on the left) and post totality, the crescent is on the opposite side.

It got really weirdly dim and yellow everywhere. But no sunrise/sunset effect and no shadows that look like snakes in the grass. 4th pic is the eclipse shining through leaves onto the street.

I know it’s not typically something done on blogs like this, but I wanna keep it active and we’ve not got any asks at the moment, so

Name suggestions! I will do them, if anyone so wishes :] be as specific or general as you want. Examples of specifics you could give are if you want it fem, masc, andro, if you want a certain letter, a certain syllable count, or a theme of some sort! Obviously you don’t have to do that much, whatever you think feels right.

I’ll make a list of a some I think fit within what you asked for!

I know changing your name is a big step for a lot of queer kids out there. I want to make that process easier for anyone who’d like some help settling on something

I'd like to spread the good advice my teacher gave me after the 2017 Trump inauguration when I was 14 and scared:

If you struggle with finding your identity while also being scared about the future (maybe even so scared that you can't picture yourself being in it) start a collection of notes of who you want to be. It doesn't need to be big things like career choices or the gender of your spouse. Just small things like :

I'm gonna move away from here one day

I want a cat

I'd like to be the friend who hosts dinner parties

Note down these thoughts! Add pictures of adults (even fictional ones) you admire or want to look/behave like. Add more whenever you think "I want to be like that". Go back and add details (eg where you would move to, cat name ideas).

Then, when you have a decent amount, start living that life as much as you can, or prepare for doing so when you become more independent.

You learn about yourself and the future becomes less scary.
