Maybe you love Jesus, but feel out of place on Sunday morning.  Maybe your church has rejected you for who you are.  Maybe you’ve always been a little..well, out there. Controversial, even.   The good news is this: Jesus loved the outcasts while He was on Earth, and He loves them still.  Black Sheep Ministries exists to give the misfits a home. We love Jesus and love the Church, but are open about our struggles and frustrations with mainstream Christianity and religion. Some of us may not know Jesus yet, or even believe in a god, and that’s okay, too. We are all loved here.

What are We Here For?

You’ve seen the flyer, you may already be following and watching for updates and developments.  But what the heck are we *doing*?

It starts with just a tiny bit of vanity.  See, I went from taking zero medication to taking... well... a few different things.  Some of them fairly large pills.  Now that I’ve been able to do more and more without my crutches- that means I’m open again to carry cute purses and bags!  Which also means... I really want a cute pill organizer.  Something portable but pretty- that would hold and organize all my meds for easy carrying in my purse.

But good luck.  If you find one that’s cute- there aren’t enough images too show if *your* pills will actually FIT.  Or it looks right, but the reviews are awful.  After 3 days of googling and hunting and reading reviews and banging my head against the desk I messaged my friend Kris and said, “If I had the capital, I’d make a store JUST to carry and sell ‘pretty’ medical gear and supplies.”  So I could go to one place and find all the things I need without having to weed through 12 different sites and then settling for the same old gray and black and ugly.”

Her response, “Who needs capital? We could do it online!”

And PrettySick Supply Co. was born.  We committed to working together to bring my idea to life.  We’re starting by trying to just create a hub.  A place you can go when you need new medical gear but you want it to be personalized or pretty.  We’ll collect links and photos, stay up with what’s available.  You just come to the site, click on “pill sorters” and see what we’ve found.  Then, you just click on the link(s) for the ones you like, and buy from there.

We’ll also be putting up videos on our youtube channel, real video reviews of the products we find and buy and showcase on our site so you can see in more than just.. 2 images... if *your* meds will fit in a given case, or how easy or difficult some of these diy tutorials are for modifying and creating your own things like pockets and organizers for walkers and wheelchairs.

Someday, our goal is to be able to offer these products to you directly.  We’re looking into forming an LLC in the future, and becoming resellers/retailers for things like MYID medic-alert bracelets, and switch stick canes, etc.etc.  But even then- our parallel priority is to support makers within our community.

And that’s what we’re working on right now.  Collecting all of you crafters and artisans who are already creating amazing products that personalize, prettify or otherwise spruce up the gear and equipment we need just to exist.  We know there are people out there making stim toys, weighted blankets, port and ostomy covers, creating decals for mobility gear and so much more!

More than that, we also want to feature your art, your jewelry.  I have a line of beaded awareness necklaces in my shop.  i know of at least 2 other artists creating disability themed jewelry and art.  There will be a place on our site for you as well.  Basically if it’s medical, illness or disability related and it’s breaking the black, gray, ugly mold- we want to know about it.  And we want to share it.

 We’re going to be combing through tumblr and etsy and storenvy to try and find some of these creators on our own- but it’s even better and simpler if you point us in the right direction!  Don’t be shy- we WANT to showcase what you’re offering.  You deserve a bigger marketplace, and we want to help connect creators with customers.

Our hope right now is to launch PrettySickSupply.com on July 1st!  We’ll have a few videos up by then, at least 1 review, and with your help- Lots of creators and crafters and amazing gear to feature and connect you to.

We are a combination of Larries and Larry shippers who value love and respect for our ship, seeking to create a support network for others like us who feel the same way.

What we stand for:

- Supporting ot4 and their solo projects with a focus on Louis and Harry - Positive stanning of Larry and ot4 and recognising their incredible value - Creating a safe space for Larries and Larry shippers, be that giving you a list of safe and friendly blogs, or encouraging you to make a positive shift within the fandom. - Love and compassion over bitterness and anger. - Shipping or Believing in Larry or the right for people to do so - Respecting others with different opinions to ourselves - Respecting the girlfriends, families, and our boys ! - The acceptance that Louis is a father because he has been telling us he is for well over a year. - That the acceptance of Freddie doesn’t have to mean Larry can’t also be together be that now or in their future. - Loving Louis and Harry as holistic and sensitive beings with feelings and not just loving them for the ship

What we reject:

- The blatant and disrespectful anti Louis undertones of other Larries - The blatant and disrespectful anti Harry undertones of other Larries - The dehumanisation of Freddie such as not being able to call Freddie by his own name ex. F, the baby, that baby, doll and comments like “Freddie who?” - The demonisation of Louis by other Larries through the following behaviours: 

The assumption that “Louis cheated on Harry” 

The belief of other Larries that if Louis is a father he is “a shit dad”

That Louis is unworthy of our love or respect if Freddie is his son.

Etc, Etc.

- Going on any of the boys, their families, their girlfriends or baby mama’s  social medias and sending out toxicity and hate to them over a ship!!! These are real people with real lives and real feelings. Bullying is wrong! - The public belittlement of any of those above entities. When you make fun of someone, it only invites hateful and combatant behaviour from your followers unto them. Making fun of a person you don’t like on your blog will encourage more direct online bullying, even if you say you don’t do that yourself! 

We are not antis or trolls, we are a support network for Larries seeking another way that is an alternative to the current negative thought processes about Louis and his child within the Larrie fandom. I want us to be able to celebrate future Louis content, because that is his son and we love and accept and respect the both of them because we love Louis.

If you can’t accept Freddie, then at least accept the possibility and respect 1/2 of your ship, Louis William Tomlinson. That means saying No! to reblogging anti-dad!Louis and anti-Freddie posts. If what people are saying hurts you, tell them on anon! If they just ignore you or brush you off, click unfollow! Show these people that nasty behaviour towards the ones you love will not be rewarded. This is the only way they will learn to stop. If you want the fandom to become a safe place again, you have to make a stand through subtle discouragement to push back against the Louis negativity on your dash.

And this new way is not only about rejecting the underlying Louis hate in these “if he is the father” posts, but about a respite from the general negativity that certain blogs have gotten away with projecting for years. There are so many people who feel like we do, and we are imploring you to make even the smallest of changes to become comfortable inside your fandom again. 

How you do that is entirely up to you, but we want you to know we are here for you and we aren’t going anywhere because we are standing up for change. Feel free to contact us at any time.
