latchtive

A latchtive is a headmate who considers themself sourced from something, but rather than strictly originating as that thing, they latched onto it as an identity or source sometime following when they came to exist in the system. An example of this would be a fragment that did not elaborate into a full headmate until the system watched a movie with a character with similar traits as the fragment, who then latched onto that character and became an introject of them. With a latchtive, it tends to be that the headmate/fragment/part/etc. latching onto the external identity did not have a very strong sense of identity beforehand, or was not a full headmate before taking on this identity. Some latchtives may view the external identity as being responsible for or helpful in causing them to develop a full sense of identity at all. However, none of this is necessary as part of the term, just the idea that a headmate somehow became an introject of some kind or gained a source but after coming to exist in the system.

pellic

A term for someone who prefers non-sexual kink acts to sex. This can include asexual(-spectrum) people who are interested in kink but not sex, but it is also inclusive of allosexuals who prefer non-sexual kink to sex for any reason. The term is derived from Latin "pellis", which translates both to "skin" (which is touched during many physical acts of kink) and "leather" (an item featured in many kinks and sometimes considered emblematic of kink as a whole). This can be combined with another orientation (e.g. pellic lesbian, bipellic, etc.), or it can be used as a label on its own if one views one's interest in non-sexual kink as an orientation in and of itself.

plurid

A “plurid”, short for “plural identity”, is something as or with which the system collectively identify and/or that affects identity throughout the system in a way that affects how the system present themselves. A plurid can be a collective identity such as being gay, dogkin, or disabled. This might be an identity that is very common among individual members, that is ascribed to the system's singletsona/that they present as, that they have lived experiences or a social circle associated with, or that no individual member has but that they feel they make up collectively. However, something can be a collective identity for any reason. A plurid can also be something that isn't necessarily an identity itself but that can affect identity, such as love, outer space, or books. While these things have identities associated with them (e.g. lovegender, spacekin, writer), they are not themselves actually identities.

These are called xenoplurids, although it is not important when coining a plurid to denote if it is a xenoplurid or not, and there can be gray areas or in-system disagreements. The counterpart to "xenoplurid" is "oikoplurid". However, if the coiner prefers to call it something else, this is also acceptable A system can use "[thing]plurid" as a label, or they can say "[thing] is our plurid". This post is a self-recoin. The original coining post for plurid can be found here, and while the thing it describes is still a form of plurid, the original definition is narrower than how it is now defined. The difference between the old version of plurid and the current version is that the old version of plurid only covered things that "typically" constitute identities (e.g. genders, kintypes, orientations, etc.) whereas the recoined version of plurid includes things that affect identity in ways outside of being the identity itself.

relationship manager

A relationship manager is a headmate who maintains relationships for the system, either by participating in them directly and/or by handling aspects of them for the headmates participating in them. This is mostly coined to refer to romantic and queerplatonic relationships, but can also be used for "regular" platonic and familial ones as well. Additionally, this can include in-system relationships as well as external relationships. This can include the following: -participating in relationships personally -engaging with aspects of a relationship that not all headmates engage with -communicating needs in relationships on headmates' behalf -planning dates (without necessarily being the headmate going on the date) -helping headmates decide who they should date -helping headmates manage emotions or symptoms that make relationships difficult This can overlap with and be considered a subset of other roles depending on how the system uses them (e.g. manager or protector), but it can also exist as a role unrelated to other roles. This is separate from the similarly-named role "love manager". A love manager splits having a partner and a high level of knowledge of relationships, but neither of these things are inherent to the role of a relationship manager.
