Take my opinion with a grain of salt since, ironically, I don't really care for crossovers or character skins or whatever.

MUGEN and its derivatives are always going to be tools for people to do whatever with whatever stuff other people make. It's homegrown. To me Fortnite has this niche of being a giant, glistening cashcow beacon for brands that keeps people interested through shock value and novelty while also having enough original, stolen from 2008 deviantart-looking designs to keep people who don't care about that stuff invested. Though the more I hear of them adding pre-2010s media I feel like the bubble gets a little bit closer to bursting.

A new Fortnite crossover brand thing comes out like: "Don't put those V-bucks in your pocket with the rest! Fortnite announces 2nd 'No Country for Old Men' Crossover!" And I'll think "Damn, what about the American Psycho emotes?" At the very least, you know, it's like there's a big Chuck-e Cheese playground for all ages. It kinda makes me sick.

So yeah I'd say it's pretty gentrified. When you get a chance look up GetAmped 2 skins. Funny stuff.

fujimoto trans theory

like just what i think about it? i find the phenomenon of people like. trans truthing mangaka and such to be strange or just kind of interesting. its prevalent in online transfem circles and i guess thats just what happens when you feel like you dont have literally anybody to look up to as idols or something.

but other than that one post i made where i was like fujimoto has such a pinpoint on what being trans is like w togata and woke up as a girl syndrome (although its very much filtered through my transmasc perspective. fwiw i read woke up as a girl syndrome as transmasc, it reads as similar enough to togatas struggles of a kind of "my body doesnt look this way but ill believe/i know this anyway", the world cant stop you from being who you are etc, and is pretty different to a lot of gender transformation stuff thats way easier to see as transfem imo) that i would genuinely find it hard for someone to channel such genuine feelings without being trans themselves, but i really dont put much thought into it beyond that.

fujimoto has enough of an awareness of trans people (and is also friends or at least has worked close with the creator of to strip the flesh who has talked about her personal gender dysphoria in her own works) that hes probably thought about it himself, so i think the fact that hes not really said anything would more tip the scales in the other direction that hes not trans. although he could be and just doesnt want to talk about in which case, fair. his audience would not treat him kindly for it

the thing that makes me not really bother putting thought into this kind of thing though is that theres very little you can like. arrive to from it. like yeah you can put all these pieces together from someones body of work to suggest that maybe theyre an egg but youre not gonna actually get anything irl from it. if hisashi "i draw the girls i wish i was born as" eguchi isnt gonna transition despite the reputation they have online then not much is really gonna happen. the whole phenomenon of people transtruthing mangaka seems to be much more an internal community exercise growing out from just. trying to analyse the media that mangaka has made from a trans lens except projecting it onto the creator as well. which is like, whatever. its not hurting anyone other than the transmysoginysts who get butthurt that trans women are daring to do a serious reading of media from their perspective.

theres totally a good chance hes plural though. "I hope little sister alters sprout from all manga authors" and such lol

You see this man, Matrix, as they call him. You don't know any of what he's done, not for us, or himself, you don't know anything. For what it's worth, hell let's be fair, not a lot of people do. But, that brings me just right back to my point, you don't know anything about what you're joking about.

So let's get this straight, we do NOT even joke about Matrix, not in that light! Alright! Because if not for him, hmm? We would have nothing, no internet, no computers, or at least all software as we know it would be gone. Zip. Do you get that? Because he did not only fight for his life, he fought for us, he fought for his home, his people. He took down that viral scum for everybody! If not for him, Y2K would have not only won, but look like child's play! And where would we be? Nothing but a bumfuck country back on page one, warming our asses on that smouldering shit we call knowledge that landed us on the moon!

I hope you think about this the next time you think about making what you think is a- a petty "joke" on someone's life like that. This is serious business we're in, we can't even begin to fathom the levels of failure we'd face without Matrix.
