There’s something so tragic about shipping Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes together because you have to imagine the slowburn that would occur with these 2 guys that, despite all the pain of joining the military at roughly the same time, going through the same, excruciating, dubiously-morally-right enhancement program, fighting in the Omnic Crisis together, and being the first members of Overwatch together, they always still had each other
Only for both of them to slowly lose their ways through the years. Only for one of them have a mission go so awry that any chance of a future of Overwatch was destroyed by his desire for vigilante justice. Only for them to be at each others throats following this for the rest of Gabriel’s days.
And maybe you don’t interpret the events of Retribution as that, and that’s totally fine! But that leaves you with something even worse to think about: the death of Gabriel Reyes and the rise of Reaper
I’m curious as to what Jacks reaction to seeing Reaper for the first time was in this scenario.
