You had been really new to the Overwatch team, barely knowing anyone in the team other than Cassidy. You stuck around him for a while until you met everyone on the team. Slowly but surely, you started warming up to everyone.
You started to hang out with more of the agents. Now Cassidy usually didn’t mind when you hung out around the team but they took up a lot of your time. You often talked with Mercy or Genji a lot. You were a medic just like Mercy in a way so he understood that you hung out with Mercy and Ana. But Genji? Cass couldn’t help but feel a slight burn in his heart. Was he jealous? Probably.
Anyways, you were having a nice conversation with Genji, Cass was unsure on what it was about but he just wanted you to himself. So he spoke, “Hey sweetheart?” You looked over at the male, tilting your head slightly in confusion.
“What is it, Cole?" You asked him, walking over to him.
He didn't wanna come as too mean, so he talks, "How's the team treating ya?" You don't know but Jesse had his teeth clenched. He's a little tense at the concept of you getting too close to Genji. He trusted you, don't get him wrong but damn, he just wanted to keep you to himself. He couldn't help it. He really loved you.
"It's really nice here! Some people are a little questionable but they're nice!" You smiled. You liked how you got along so well with the other support heroes. Even if they were often helping the others, they fought well during battles. You admired that a lot.
"That's good. I'm glad you're gettin' comfy." He smiled, hiding his jealousy as well as he could. It's funny to him, he liked you a lot and yet, you weren't even dating. He was so possessive but he knew he shouldn't be, because you weren't his.
You rambled on to him for a bit longer until you had gotten called by Genji. "I'll be back, see ya later!" You smiled before going right back to Genji, continuing your conversation with him again.
Cole watched as you went back. He sighed quietly to himself. He's really gotta confess to you soon. He's not sure how much he can handle himself getting jealous.
Another few days pass and you're rather close with everyone at this point. Cole avoided you for a little while, he needed to get his thoughts straightened out. Was he ever gonna confess to you? What would he even say? A lot of thoughts ran in his mind, he hadn't even realized that you entered his room.
"Cole?" He gets pulled out of his thoughts, he looks at you. You're kind of sad and a little confused. "Why have you been ignoring me lately? Did I do something wrong?"
He was quiet for a moment before murmuring, "I was jealous." He hated to admit it but he knew it was true.
"I couldn't hear you. Can you repeat that?" You looked at him confused, sitting next to him.
"I was jealous." He said a bit louder.
"Why were you jealous?"
It's now or never, he thought. "I like you, y/n. More than a friend. I wanna keep you for myself." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He wasn't looking at you but your face was warm and red at the sudden confession.
"O-oh, wow. Did not expect to hear anything like that today." You stuttered, laughing sheepishly. "Is it safe to say I like you too?" You looked at him with a small smile.
He sighed with relief. "You don't know how happy that makes me." He smiled at you. "Can I have you all to myself for a while?"
