It wasn’t a surprise Xio either didn’t recognise or know her, she wasn’t exactly officially Blackwatch. She was too young to go on active duty and was in training to become part of Blackwatch when Jack had made the decision last second to send her to Nepal to the omnic monks (possibly to keep her away from Blackwatch and Gabe or the ensuing infighting.)
She leans against the door to the hanger that granted access to the main control room, smoking as she made sure to blow the smoke out of the door to avoid being told off by Winston for setting off the smoke alarms. A few things would be noticeable first to the old timer:
First that weird arse bird that was staring at Xio like crazy, it sat like a parrot but looked nothing like one, it did look like what all pictures of phoenixes look like. Second the young lady had full traditional chinese general armour on. And third, that weird wine stain birthmark that covered a good third of her face.
Xin sighed but with a smile, “welcome back then, granted things aren’t the same anymore but its a roof over one’s head. And as far as I know Winston won’t do that. Xio huh? Xifeng Sun, or Phoenix, or Xin.”
Xio took in the woman, the oddities about her, but it all basically just got filed away in Xio’s mind for later examination. The bird was weird, she had to admit. The armor, less so. After all, Xio had worked with Reinhardt and his outdated armor before (updated, but still outdated). Then there was the mercenary that she had been paired with that tried to go into battle with a full medieval suit of armor on. What people chose to wear to battle wasn’t going to phase Xio in the least bit.
Xio’s own attired was going to be significantly less strange than the woman she was looking at wore. She was in a pair of high-waisted black pants, the bottoms tucked into a pair of black flat boots. She wore a black hoodie, the large case on her back coming up over the top of her head. Her brown hair was settled in its usual messy bun, strands having already fallen free to frame her face.
“Thanks,” she said after a moment of pause, shifting her gaze back to the woman’s face. “I have no doubts that Blackwatch won’t ever come back. Shame. All that shit with the logo all over it will be useless now.” She she shifted the case on her back. “What is it you do? Offense, defense...?”
