Annie has been a frog for 3 years and a bit as of the story. She's known Ferdinand for a little over four months when she turned back into her regular form.
See, the curse would have been permanent if she hadn't broken it by her 18th bday! They are quite young in this XD It is medieval times lol
Annie does have a family! I mean, before the events of the story. She was an orphan, but she was adopted by a noble family composed of all orphan children, her siblings, the other complex emotions!
They were all specifically chosen for their talents, her's being her exceptional problem-solving skills. Therefore, she became a strategist and learned sword fighting. Although, it's been a while and she's a little rusty in the present day XD
The children being adopted is a tradition in their house, the goal being to create some of the most talented people in the land. It is a LOT of pressure, which is why Annie didn't draw Nostalgia here. As the matriarch, she enforces the rules; picture like Abuela from Encanto.
