1. Dorcas doesn’t know what to do with Lily. She’s a girl that’s been there since day one, an ever-present in her life since they’d been in the same year and took many of the same classes. She’s gone from admiring Lily to pushing her away to being an acquaintance. A part of Dorcas is curious to know her more, but the part of her that wants no one in her life flares up and Dorcas won’t allow for it.
2. It came as a great surprise to her when she found out Lily smoked weed. Dorcas was often judged by those in her house if she came back, wreaking of the stuff, and Lily, someone who was considered an over-achiever by many, was someone she could not picture stoned. It wasn’t as though Dorcas smoked often, but it was nice to know she wasn’t the only “smart chick” who indulged in the pastime.
3. Dorcas bought Lily the book “Alice in Wonderland” for Christmas during their last year at Hogwarts. It was one of her favorites and, being a Muggle born, she hoped the Gryffindor would enjoy the novel as much as she did.
4. She secretly thinks Lily is too good for James and is glad that they’re not currently together. She’s seen the worst in Potter and the best in Lily and doesn’t want Lily to settle for him just because of his relentless and obsessive crush.

Ryder: I'm sorry for sending you this; I know it's really dangerous and maybe you don't even want to hear from me. I just wanted to make sure you're okay. You're okay, right? You were at the World Cup and nowhere near Big Ben last weekend?
Lily: [UNSENT] You’re okay?! You have no idea how happy I am to hear from you! I miss you so much! Why wouldn’t I want to hear from you? I have so many things to say but I know it’s not the time or place and you’re just checking on me. But still… You’re okay!
Lily: I’m okay, I promise. We were at the World Cup. Nothing happened to us. Can I ask if you’re okay?
Ryder: I'm pretty good for a weird forest guy. Or desert. Or ocean. I can't tell you where we went, I don't want them to find us. And Melanie? Do you know if she's okay, too? I know she likes to go to the area just across the river at the Eye a lot.
I'm coming over with my famous double fudge cookies and milk, though if you want something stronger I am brining that too. I am so damn happy you are out of that he'll hole. I'm sure the rest of your mates are already there or on their way. I hope you don't mind one more. //Love Lily

Even my chocolate-averse self couldn’t resist your cooking, especially after having been surrounded by Dementors for five straight days. I think I could use the boost.
Something stronger would be nice as well, but we’ve got stuff here, too. So don’t bother if it’s trouble.

You’re always welcome. Feel free to camp out with us for as long as you’d like; though, as I’m sure you are aware, they can be rather gross. Myself included.

I have a problem. A real, gigantic, slightly embarrassing problem. So, you know, I’m not exactly great when it comes to cooking? And preparing food in general? I make great coffee, seriously, my espresso is the best you’ve ever tasted. Off topic. Anyway. I might have tried to bake. And now there’s a lot of smoke in the kitchen, and something is smelling very, very bad.
What do I do??? You’re married, don’t married people usually know what to do in these situations? I’d ask Molly but if she or Fab found out that I got near the stove they’d srangle me. Help? Please?

Bugger! I must have missed that update and here I've been following your story so avidly. Well that is brilliant news! What do you figure between you and Dumbledore the babe's got brain cells to spare? Makes sense to me. Being an alcoholic I do have quite a bit of booze already, how about I bring a bottle of whiskey over and you provide something resembling real food? If I eat at the three broomsticks one more time I swear I'll hex myself. We can tell James we're playing house and make him all jealous.
