âHere? As in Hogwarts? Plenty of people here would rat me out.â
shiningredstag:
âWellâthen I can easily find us a good hiding spot where we could talk about these things in secret?â James raised a brow hoping Regulus was okay with that.
Regulus inhaled before giving a nod, his voice low once he came to respond. âYeah --- yeah okay that works.â
prewett-fabian:
âBecause weâre cousins.â Fabian shrugged, âI was just checking in with you.â
âYou know Iâm not supposed to talk to you.â
shiningredstag:
âWell because I genuinely care about your wellbeing Regulus? Your brother needed help, and I know you do as well.â
There was a moments hesitation, gaze darting about their surroundings before he replied in a hush tone. â--- we canât talk like this, not here, not where people can see us.â
therebelandromeda:
âIt will and always will continue to be so long as you are blood.â
âWell you donât need to be prying into every aspect of it.â
major-canis:
âIâm talking about for your safety you dingus. -Sorry.â he sighed, running his hands in his hair to find the words to say. âIf they see us being friendly youâre going to get in trouble and I donât want you getting into any more of it.â
âI can handle myself --- I already am after all.â his lips pressed together, brows furrowing for a moment as he tried to keep his emotions in check. âBesides... there are a lot of secrets around this school already, not hard to remain friendly on subtle terms.â
â----- and how is my life any of YOUR business?â
Study Sessions | Alice & Regulus
alice-felicite-fortescue:
Alice looked up at the sound of Regulusâ voice, surprised that in the intense quiet of the library she never heard him approach. âPunctuality and preparedness are important, I think. Itâs even better if you can do them both at once.â She smiled and flipped her book open to the chapter they were working on. âI know Iâve said this before, but thank you for helping me Regulus.â
Regulus gave a nod at her response, his body language always tense and uncomfortable for the first few minutes he shared with someone. His fingers flexed against his hold on his books, taking a moment before placing the pile down and off to the side. âOf course, and maybe if I end up taking Herbology I could get a few pointers?â He replied, taking his seat as he attempted to continue the conversation.
major-canis:
âIâve changed because I donât want people getting the wrong idea.â he started to say, looking around. âSure you have friends- you have that fucking prick Lucius donât you? Heâll definitely look after you after heâs kissed everyone elseâs arse.â
âThe wrong idea? Is still caring about your little brother something that gives the wrong idea?â Regulus frowned, averting eye contact for a brief moment before speaking again. âLucius isnât my friend... not really anyways. I donât have friends like you do.â
major-canis:
âI havenât changed.â he defending himself, squinting at his brother. âI mean your house mates. I would never refer to them that nicely.â By them, he meant their parents. He couldnât get himself to call them anything other than âthemâ anymore.
âYou have changed, Sirius. At least to me it seems like you have...â His voice grew quiet as he continued to speak, averting eye contact. âI never referred to them nicely, but I have no where to go. I donât have a choice but to stay, I donât have friends like you do. I would be alone. They would K I L L me.â
Study Sessions | Alice & Regulus
alice-felicite-fortescue:
For some reason, the Hogwarts library was usually fairly empty on Tuesday afternoons. It was as if the professors never assigned anything due on Wednesdays, or maybe everyone was just taking a break after studying on the weekends. Whatever the reason, it was near empty. Which made it the perfect day for tutoring sessions, because you wouldnât disturb others by talking. At least thatâs what Alice and Regulus had thought when they chose Tuesdays. Alice was near useless when it came to potions, and Regulus was so good that it actually made some sense to her when he explained it, even though he was a year behind her. So, just like she did every Tuesday, Alice made her way to the library and sat at their usual table. She laid out her books and waited for Regulus to arrive.
@pureblooded
The quiet that fell over the library on the days he often occupied it was refreshing, a welcomed change from the usual bustle around Hogwarts or the loud days that came with Quidditch matches or even simply practices. It could have been considered eerie to some, the way the silence hung. The ghosts of Hogwarts occasionally passing through, bringing the faintest of sounds along with them. Regulus enjoyed it though, even on days he knew he would soon be face first in a book studying or alongside another student that needed his help; today being one of the latter. He shifted the books under his arm as he approached their usual spot, the library near empty once again with the occasional lone student sat about. A faint smile met his lips as his eyes came to rest on Alice. âI see you are early again, and already prepared to start.â
major-canis:
âThings change- people change, Reg.â his eyes gazed off into the distance. âIâm glad to see those pricks are taking care of you.â he turned his eyes back to his younger brother.Â
âIâm not the one who has changed.â His words were direct, sharp, but with a hint of unease as he spoke. âI suppose being beat is one way to take care of someone.â
major-canis:
@purebloodedâ
âIf youâre here to call me a disappointment or tell me how you like your Slytherin friends as a brother more than me, you can leave.â
â--- excuse me?â His lips curled in, gaze set heavily upon his older brother. âGlad to see you think so little of me, and that you lump me in with everyone else. Not as if you knew my views before you left or anything, not like ever talked about how we hate our parents ideals.â
peacockheir:
âBelieve it or not, Iâm worried about you,â Lucius scowled. âAnd I refuse to believe that was an accident. Youâre the bloody seeker. I sincerely doubt you would have messed your eye up that badly on your own since youâre far too coordinated.â He paused and took on a softer expression, chewing at his lower lip in thought. âFair enough, but know I wonât be able to keep from asking questions once we get back to the dorms if that isnât the only blemish.â
He couldnât argue against that, he was right after all. Regulusâ lips curled in, gaze breaking away from Luciusâ as he took a moment to consider his next response. âWhy must you know more? Just heal it and let it be. It doesnât affect school, so it doesnât affect you.â
bloodiedcarrow:
She hated it, she hated how cruel most pureblood parents were. Alecto had long ago been numbed toward that particular brand of brutality her father was fond of, but a tiny part of her still felt a stab of pity for the boy. She quickly squashed this, emotion for anyone other than herself and Amycus was not something she could afford.Â
Alecto saw the tension in his body, and it amused her. That was the reason she waited, his anxiety only made her feel more powerful. Was this cruel? Probably. But she did not care, she was bored (Wasnât that always her excuse?) Still, she healed him, like she was supposed to do. It bothered her that she was so good at it, Alecto wished she had not had to use these spells so often to help her brother, when he took the punishments for her. Alecto frowned when the boy did not thank her. How rude. âNow, now, Little Black. Did your mother not teach you any manners?â She kept her wand out.
He was used to this, used to T H R E A T S. The cold tone that embraced every word, the chill that would pass down his spine when he was EXPECTING something to happen. His fingers flexed at his side, hand gradually moving closer to where his wand was concealed. âMy sincerest apologies, Carrow. I suppose it really would be rude of me to not thank you for your oh so generous hospitality.â Regulus forced a half smile as he replied, eyes never leaving herâs. âNow if you donât mind I really do need to be on my way, things to do you know --- people to deal with. You know how it is.â
