Check holding an owl off my list. 🦉 The Great Grays were the naughtiest (large) and the sweetest (medium), while the long eared owls just wanted to watch the streets. My barn owl was anxious to stretch and flapped in my face a lot (respect). And as you'd guess, the pygmies commanded the most attention. / Forest of Owl is one of several オルカフェ/フクロカフェ in Japan. It's always hard to know, where places like these fall on the spectrum of animal rights and ethics. Forest of Owl has mandatory rest times for their birds, during which they're off limits to guests. They also let the owls roam freely and supervise holding. The information in the cafe describes them as a home for owls that were given up as pets, or come from rescue. Hopefully that's all true.
