I got to participate in the release of this beautiful Barred Owl today, with thanks to @centerforwildlife, who rehabilitated him for 36 days after he was struck by a car. It sorta reminds me of Bless Me Ultima... I can’t believe my life. We were pulling out of a parking lot when we saw the owl in the grill of the truck. We got their attention and started breaking off the cracked grill with their permission. Eventually the cops came and animal control called, and gave us the go ahead to pull them out. I’m proud to say I did not need gloves and the bird has been pretty chill with me. We got them into a box and will be taking them to a vet in grapevine that accepts owls. Their wing is injured and they’re wobbly on one side but still here. World Owl Trust Newsletter

In March 2019 I had a experience with a wild Barn Owl.

In 2020 I captured images of a Barn Owl in flight, and posted them on the world owl trust facebook page. Shortly after I was contacted by the CEO of the trust asking if he could use my images. After contacting the trust I told them of my story about the owl experience, they also ask if they could use my story for the newsletter.

Rescued this little guy from the pack of jack russels at our conference centre. Eagle owl fledglings spend a couple of days on the ground before learning to fly, thus little guy was just in the wrong spot. He was released just outside the fence within 100m from where he was found so his parents who were keeping an eye out nearby would still be able to fund and feed him if his hunting attempts weren't doing too well. This was a great rescue for me, being able to save an Eagle owl after having lost one to a transformer electrocution a few months ago. #eagleowl #owl #rescue #owlrescue #rescueandrelease #cute #babyowl #fledgling #savetheowls
