if ada was in re9 (or any game by herself) it would go like this:
“i mean, im GLAD shes in a game by herself but shouldnt Ieon be here too? i mean theyre always in games together! like i said im glad she’s by herself but it would have been nice to see him even if it doesnt make sense”
or
“why the fuck is she here she has nothing to do with any of this she doesnt have anything to do with rc and shes just a morally grey character like she’ll really have to redeem herself this game”
Angel Rising
Just found an old RPG I was writing as a college freshman (with an appropriately corny working title lol). It was interesting to look at. It never got to the point of rules, but the overall ideas from appear in other things I'm doing. You can see how much the World of Darkness influenced me, because conceptually it combined Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage. The tone and style as well are very heavily influenced by old White Wolf.
It's about a secret world of Lovecraftian sanity vampires, with varying levels of humanness and ability to transform. They're a complete inversion of human religions: they worship the primordial chaos before creation, and like Gnostics view the material world as a mistake created by an evil Demiurge. Their madness is really just an ability to comprehend the truth. Their "magic" is based on warping reality in illogical ways, which is easier the less logical minds are resisting it.
Like vampires they feed off mortals and live forever, like werewolves they have monstrous forms and can go temporarily mad, and like mages they are in a contest with normal people to bend reality. It stopped part-way so it doesn't go into detail, but their "magic" was supposed to be truly weird. Like treating a 3D space like a 2D space and traversing large distances, or manipulating far objects as though they're small. Just non-Euclidian, MC Escher type nightmare shit.
And of course they have horrifying extra limbs and can transform into giant mind-bending monsters. When you dismember them their limbs move while you're not watching--you turn around, and then when you look back everything's in a different place. When they reassemble they regenerate.
They plant seeds of confusion, nightmares, and madness in people, sometimes opening their minds to the truth of Chaos and transforming them. They've built an entire secret religious bureaucracy purely for the purpose of studying Illogic and destroying the world.
I didn't have a tablet screen at the time, so I resorted to an art style that worked well with MS Paint--all silhouettes and simple lines. In retrospect I feel like it had some good things in it, for an abortive first attempt without professional art.
I made an super cute chibi for Grape *-*! I was wondering if i should make this kind of art for every character, aaaand I think that would be nice :o! So ill try, hopefully i wont get bored and ill finish it xD
S.A.L.T.
So, after one month of work, i am proud to announce a fully playable IC videogame: S.A.L.T. This game does not need a dm to play, will be updated (hopefully) monthly, and can be quickly started with just two people whenever. All informations are on https://siasliti.enjin.com/
uuuh quick update to announce that 99% of the 2d assets are done, so it looks like we're reaching the integration process now
it's a short time if i want to release the game on the 19th (date release of the original demo) but if i dont make it, you can be sure it'll be released this month anyway
