Call-outs as Widowmaker

When playing Widowmaker, try to make call-outs on what you see. This is a good idea for everyone, but Widow in particular usually has the high ground and can get an eye on flankers pretty early on. This is a basic, but overall very helpful thing to do.

Angelic Descent

A good, general tip that I've learned playing her is that when you play Mercy, make the most of her angelic descent.

Hang off the side of an edge to avoid an ult (Illios, Nepal, and Lijang are all good maps for this) and call out to a teammate if you're starting to get too low.

Use angelic descent to do a falling rez on a teammate who died on high ground; this can make for a stealthy yet vital rez that can catch the enemy team off guard.

If you're on console, try switching the rez and jump buttons for Mercy. That way if you have a habit of using L2 or LT to fall slowly, you'll be less likely to accidentally rez someone at a bad time.

So i want to start overwatch. But i havent even bought the game yet because i am scared of the community. Ive heard they are very unaccepting to new people and there is such a gap between those who have been playing for years and those just starting out. I dont want this to be like Smite, where you just get nuked if you arent level 289 especially since over watch is like 80 dollars. Any advice?

Hi friend! If you’re looking for an actual community, I really recommend looking for a discord server to join! Most Overwatch youtubers have one, but I highly recommend @supportunion ‘s discord, It’s fun, small-ish, super lgbt+ friendly!

Levels in Overwatch do not indicate skill at all (most high-rank players have several smurf accounts), and leveling up does not unlock anything other than cosmetics. A level 1 Tracer has the same abilities as a level 500 tracer.

The only gap is just general game knowledge, but that can easily be attained by just testing the characters out in the practice range as well as watching informational youtube videos. 

One of my friends actually recently started playing Overwatch, and he just got placed into gold! I haven’t heard a negative thing from him about the community yet. 

So if you are worried about the community, don’t be. I mean there are still gross people who will throw slurs in voice chat, but I mean, whats a multiplayer game without that?

Hello everyone! I’d like to thank everyone who has been following this blog for ages! This blog has been up since June 9, 2017, almost a year and a half ago! 

Don’t worry, this blog is not ending, it is just going to be under new management now! New map! Petra

Petra will be a map for 8 player deathmatch mode, which can be found in the arcade. The upcoming competitive mode: 8 player deathmatch will feature both this map as well as Chateau Guillard
