yeah almost as if the ENTIRE POINT OF THE SCENE IS THEM EACH DOING SOMETHING KIND THAT CHALLENGES THEIR PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS OF THE OTHER

Elphaba got Galinda into that seminar because, from her perspective, Galinda has just set her sister up on a date and given her a cool gift. She’s responding to what she perceives as an olive branch and an indication that Galinda isn’t as awful as she thought. Galinda just has that exact same experience. Elphaba going to Madame Morrible shows her Elphaba’s kindness, which also changes how she sees her. This change does make her feel guilty for treating her badly, and also makes her want to extend a real olive branch in response.

As much I love and relate to Fiyero

The ozdust scene is so special too me, like Elphaba was basically carrie’d by her roommate who she was willing to be nice to and instead of breaking down or showing her emotions she does what she usually does which is pretend not to care. So she dances she dances and everyone laughs because they see her as embarrassing.

Elphaba dances alone, her sister looks embarrassed, Fiyero looks intrigued and Galinda looks…remorseful. Fiyero mentions how elphaba doesn’t care but Galinda knows she does so against all judgement and biases she walks out onto that dance floor and begins dancing with Elphaba.

And for that moment Elphaba is vulnerable she cries, she actually allows herself to feel emotion instead of deflect and Galinda wipes her tears away. She may have walked onto that floor because Elphaba got her into that sorcery seminar but it was those new feelings towards Elphaba that let her continue, that let her dance, that have her reach up to Elphaba’s face a face so vilified by the student body and one thought to be disgusting she reaches up and wipes those tears.
