Twonkaholics 2014
Anti-boring Friends.
Here's work from my first solo show back in Jan 2012 at Homegrown in Ventura CA. It was a crazy, heinous, long, explorative, exciting, and enjoyable experience creating all of these. A few pieces are available in my store.
Neff x Sesame Street x The Seventh Letter art show at Known Gallery, what what! Also, a sneak peek of an exciting collabo I've been working on being worn by the homie Madsteez.
YMCMBEEZY
Wayne rockin' some Neff shades I designed (3Ds and All Golds) for our upcoming line. Both at the NBA All-Star Game, ESPN, and a new vid he did with Romeo Santos.
Here's some shirts I did for the Neff Spring/Summer line. toot it and boot it.
Hot Rod is one of my fav movies of all time, so when I heard about working with The Lonely Island I was trippin balls stoked! Here's 3 shirts I designed for the Neff x The Lonely Island collabo. Like a boss.
Family Force Robotic Inter-galacticism.
Album art for Family Force Five's album entitled "III" (three). I love it when I get to work with people who have the same passion for raw radness that I do! I lost it when I heard about the idea of using a trike on the cover. The golden doritos function as pixie dust from outer space for men who wrangle inter-galactic power machines. The portraits tested my patience, but I was stoked on the outcome. Golden dream project! Click the cover image to see it hi-res.
Friday was my first experience showing some of my hand made artwork in a gallery-ish setting. I was CA-RAY-ZEE nervous before and during the entire thing, but in the end It was bodacious!
I spent a couple months on this body of work. My reason for wanting to do this in the first place was to experiment and grow as a creator. Through much lost sleep and over exerted brain power I did just that. I learned TONS, not only about methods of producing artwork, but about myself and my aesthetic. It was a fun, painful, adventurous and rewarding process, and only another one of many chapters in my lifelong pursuit of creative exploration. I know who I am. I am trying to communicate who I am through my art, my years of skateboarding, breakdancing, graffiti, music graphic design, love and romanticism, the marriage of geometric and organic, my personal human experience. I think that I accomplished a certain amount of that, I'll be working on it till my body won't let me anymore. I'll have quality pics of the individual pieces up soon, and things for sale in the store. Bunch of more pics here.
Thanks to everyone who came out, to Veronica and Wally at Homegrown for hosting the show, Johnny for the studio space, and Bear for the photos!
