It’s so important to me that the f!timeline peeps are soooo protective of the younger thems. One because they’re double their age and trained and raised children for half their lives, so they’re naturally like kids get behind me tyyy. Two because they see them fall into similar cycles they did at that age. Recognizing the turmoil they were going through, that they watched their brothers go through at the time, on faces you’re suddenly 20 years older and wiser than. It’s looking at a struggling version of yourself and trying to give them the guidance you wish you had. They’re looking at versions of themselves that remind them of their own mistakes they may hold resentment towards and still choosing to be gentle. They’ve learned these lessons themselves and don’t want to watch the kids make the same mistakes. And there’s a small part of them that it heals, being able to look back and remember all the mistakes you made and recontextualize it as an adult. They were just kids facing the end of the world.
