Andrew was born Halloween of ’84 to a costumed pregnant nun: his mom Guilia Blair. After 19 hours of intense labour the single mom welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world in the heart of Chicago. He was a couple of weeks premature and had to be incubated for the first week. It was then when Guilia received visitors that she had never seen before. Apparently, these ladies, Mary and Gwyneth, were distant cousins of hers and over the years of Andrew growing up they helped when they could. Guilia accepted their help even if the two ladies seemed a bit odd. Any help to raise her son she would take.
So every summer growing up Guilia would force Andrew to spend a couple of weeks with them and his cousin Ryland. The two boys hardly got on. Where Andrew was quiet and studious Andrew was boisterous and rebellious and, in all honesty a bit nosy. He was always inquisitive about everything. He wondered what his cousin read so much about and why those two crazy aunts of his quieted when he came in the room. It wasn’t until he was seventeen that Andrew realised how batshit crazy they were, and he saw everything. Spells and chants and witches and the Devil and whatever else was involved.
He never mentioned anything to his mother who was raised Catholic, but when he turned eighteen he never stepped foot in his aunts’ house and only ran into Ryland here and again in Chicago. Also, when he turned eighteen he enrolled into the police academy. He graduated with top marks and hit the beat for the better part of ten years. The streets of Chicago were unforgiving, but he loved his job. When there was a detective position available Andrew was there to take it there was no hesitation. It was a couple of years working alongside his partner that he was moved to homicide. His inquisitive nature has paid off. He has the record of most solved cases in the past five years and besting his own records drive him.
Andrew lives in Oakbrook, Illinois in a one-story ranch home. He has no pets, no significant other, and no children. He is very much dedicated to his work and work only. He has a few mates outside of work: Beau and Stevens. He spends most of his nights alone going over case files. Andrew is a great cook all thanks to his mom berating him while he was younger. He goes to visit his mom every Wednesday for a game of poker with her friends and he very much enjoys it. Every once in a blue moon Mary and Gwyneth show up with presents, but Andrew while polite is very curt with them. Something his mom still doesn’t understand to this day. But Andrew remembers exactly why. It was when he found out of his family’s history that something broke in Andrew but he does his best to suppress it and keep living life as normal.
