andrew-davies:
Itâd been a weird couple of days since Jennifer had told him about the baby. After the thought of the attack started to settle in his mind, and the cuts had begun healing, he knew he needed to talk to her. Andrew sat on the couch in her living room, eyebrows pinched together and worry set into his eyes. Standing up, he moved over to stand in front of her and brushed her hair away from her face. âYou know you can talk to me, Jenny. I want to be here for youâI am here for you. No matter what happens.â
Jennifer reached up and grabbed onto his hand as it brushed against her cheek, holding onto it tightly. His words made her feel guilty and she bit down onto her bottom lip, avoiding his eyes. Better to rip off the bandaid quickly. âIâve been think about what to do with...the baby and this last attack has made me realize that I canât stay here.âÂ

Loraly tried to avoid Jennifer's gaze by dropping her own to look at her hands, but something about it forced her to look back up. She searched her friendâs eyes and saw that she meant every word. She could practically see the pain at the mere thought of losing her, and Loraly knew that look would be reflected in her own eyes if the situation was flipped. âI canât promise I wonât get hurt or even die. But I will promise that I will do everything I can to stay alive.â She tried a smile, though it wasnât really convincing with the way her lip seemed to tremble. âAfter all, I have to be around to meet my godchild.â
It wasnât much of an assurance but it was one that Jennifer was willing to accept. She would take any sort of promise that she could hold on to until she could return back to England. Anything to reassure herself that she wasnât making a horrible mistake by leaving. âThank you.âÂ

Her hand moved soothingly over her best friendâs back, though she wasnât sure if it was to comfort Jennifer or herself. But then the blonde had to ask her something that she knew wouldnât end well. Loraly drew back slightly so she could look the other girl in the eye as she shook her head. âJenny⊠I canât promise you that. You know I canât.â
âI need you to Loraly. You need to promise me that youâre not going to purposefully get yourself killed while Iâm gone. If you canât even tell me that you wonât immediately kamikaze yourself the second I step on that boat, Iâll never be able to forgive myself for leaving.â Jennifer said, staring at Loraly directly. âYou have to try to stay alive... because I want you to be the babyâs godmother. Itâs probably wrong of me to ask you this when Iâm going to be leaving but I have to. Iâve lost so many people Iâve loved Loraly. I couldnât bear to lose your forever too.âÂ

The brunette just kept nodding as Jennifer spoke; a slow almost dazed nod as she looked at her best friend, taking in every detail of her face. âYeah⊠only temporary.â But Loraly knew that it could still last years. Who knew where this war was going and when it was ending? It only seemed to be picking up now, and looking back at other Wizarding Wars, it would take a couple years. When Jennifer hugged her, Loraly felt the tears begin to slowly trail down her own cheeks and she buried her face against her friendâs hair. She couldnât find any words to say, not in that moment, and instead just held the blonde close to her in a way she hadnât in a while, if ever. She should have hugged her moreâŠÂ
Jennifer hugged Loraly as tight as she could, trying to fight back the sobs that threatened to break through. She hated having to leave Loraly behind, even though she knew it was the best option. When she had been going over everything she could do in her situation, it had been the choice sheâd wanted to take the least. But it had been the only truly viable option. âJust- Promise me youâll stay safe. That you wonât do anything rash while Iâm gone.â

America. The word resonated in Loralyâs mind as she simply stared at her friend. She was going to America, a whole different country, across an ocean, across the world. Even if she tried to be strong, Loraly felt the tears well in her eyes. She had gotten good at hiding her emotions, at being stoic, but she never could around Jennifer. The brunette tried to brush them away as Jenny approached her, but couldnât quite manage as her best friend took her hand. âNo I- I get it. Itâs safest for you and for the baby. And I want you safe. You never deserved to get caught up in this war. You never deserved any of this.â Her free hand lifted up to cup her cheek, her thumb brushing lightly on the right side of her face, beside her scar. Her chin trembled slightly as she tried to fight back her tears and she shook her head. âIâll miss you.âÂ
Jenniferâs own tears sprang to life as she saw the oneâs reflected in Loralyâs eyes. âIâm going to miss you too.â She said, her voice shaking. âB-But Iâll write you as often as youâd like. Every day if you want. And itâs not forever, I promise. As soon as itâs safe, as soon as the war is over, Iâll be back. This - This is only temporary. Once this is all over, things will go back to being normal.â Unable to help herself, she pulled Loraly into a tight hug as a few tears ran down her cheeks.

loralyxdavies:
âOkay.â It made sense. It didnât really surprise the brunette at all. But from the way Jennifer was acting, she knew there was more. And then it came and the words hit her like a bludger to the gut. Loraly tried her best not to let her true feelings show but she couldnât stop herself from pressing her lips together and dropping her gaze. She would not cry. This was the right decision. Jennifer would be safe. The baby would be safe. It made sense. Finally, after a moment of silence, she knew she could speak without her voice trembling. âWhere will you go?â
âAmerica.â She murmured, knowing that Loraly would be able to hear her despite the quiet tone with her vampire hearing. She hated the look of pain that she could see across the other girlâs face. This was what Jenny had been worried about. It had never been her intention to hurt Loraly, but sheâd managed to do it anyways. Quickly crossing over to her best friendâs side, she took Loralyâs hand. âI donât want to go, but I have to. If I stayed here... We wouldnât survive. The Death Eaters would have a field day if I got caught in another attack.â

loralyxdavies:
Loraly wasnât an idiot. Sheâd noticed how Jennifer had been acting for the past while and she had a feeling she knew why. Trying to decide what to do about her pregnancy was surely hard. And while Loraly had tried to be a supportive friend, sheâd also been distracted by the Blood Thieves. So now, standing at the edge oof their living room, looking at Jenny fidgeting nervously, she knew a decision had been made. âOkayâŠâ The word was drawn out and she stood stock still, not trusting herself to move or really speak until she knew what was going on. âWhat⊠um⊠what did you decide?â
âI-Iâm going to keep it.â She started off, wanting to get the easy part out of the way first. There hadnât been a question of whether or not she would carry the baby - the alternative had been too awful to think of - but she hadnââ been quite sure what would become of the baby afterwards. Adoption had been on the table for a while, but ultimately Jenny hadnât wanted it. She already knew what it was like to be tossed aside by oneâs birth family. She wouldnât do the same to her own child. âB-But, Mom and I were t-talking.. and we donât t-think London is safe enough r-right now.â

Jennifer fidgeted nervously with the sleeves of her jacket, fingers twisting the small buttons over and over again until she thought they might snap off. Her mother had agreed to wait at at the flat until she was done, something that had seemed sensible at the time, but as she stood in the middle of her living room, she missed having the moral support. How was she supposed to tell the two people she cared for most that she was leaving them? âThereâs something I have to tell you,â She started. âAnd youâre not going to like it. This - This isnât a choice I ever wanted to make and I donât do it lightly.âÂ

Of course, she didnât. How was she supposed to know? Loraly stared at her friendâs hands over her stomach and wondered if sheâd be able to hear a heartbeat. Did they even have a heart beat this early or were they still a little blob? She decided she didnât want to check. Because if she heard one and then Jenny made a choice⊠Suddenly, all anger left her and she only felt concern for the blonde beside her. âHave you- youâve told Andrew, right? What did he say?â
âY-Yeah, he came over earlier. He was... surprised.â It was the easiest explanation she could give Loraly. âI still have t-to tell Mom though. Iâm sure s-she wonât be happy. Not that I c-can blame h-her.â Finding out that her daughter was pregnant was sure to give Helena a shock. Especially considering theyâd never had to even discuss sex before.Â

loralyxdavies:
Loraly ran both her hands through her messy hair, trying not to let her anger get out of control. Sheâd had a harder time controlling her emotions; when she was sad, she couldnât stop crying. When she was angry, she craved blood. She couldnât let that happen now so she simply focused on her words even as her hands balled into fists. âYes you were, but he should have known better. You were drunk and inexperienced and he- I donât care how drunk he was, he should have known.â But then she realised she didnât know how Jennifer felt about it, so she stopped fuming for one moment to meet her eye. âWhat are you going to do?âÂ
âI-I donât know.â Jennifer murmured, her hands moving to cover her stomach. She wasnât  sure there was much she could do. Having a baby at her age in the middle of the war seemed like a perfect recipe for disaster and pain. But the alternative sent a shiver up her spine. Jenny wasnât sure she would be able to go through with that option.

loralyxdavies:
It was obvious Jennifer was nervous and it was only making Loraly more nervous as well. She reached over and let her hand rest lightly on her friendâs knee, hoping to calm her fidgeting. But then suddenly two words left the blondeâs lips that had Loraly freeze where she was. A range of emotions washed over her as she slowly put those abstract words to reality and her gaze dropped to Jenniferâs belly. Her best friend was pregnant with her cousinâs child, making her technically an aunt. âWha- how-â Her emotions finally settled on anger as a thought crossed her mind. âYou didnât use protection? Iâm gonna slap Andrew; how could he do that to you?!âÂ
âI-Its not just his fault!â Jennifer hurried to explain. She didn't want Loraly to be angry with Andrew over something theyâd both done. It wasnât fair to him. And she didnât want to cause problems between the two of them. Especially not with how important they both were to her. âWe were b-both irresponsible. P-Please donât be upset w-with him.âÂ

loralyxdavies:
Loraly followed the blonde to the couch, trying not to look too worried as she tried to guess what was about to be said. She sat down beside her friend and watched her patiently, even though she just wanted to know what was going on. Her brow furrowed slightly at Jenniferâs reminder of an event Loraly was sure sheâd never forget and nodded slowly, obviously confused. âYes⊠Not really something I can easily forget. Are you okay? Did something else happen that night?â
âN-No... I mean yes b-but I didnât.... realize.â She finished lamely, her fidgeting becoming more pronounced. Jennifer took another deep, shaky breath, trying to calm herself down. She knew it was ridiculous of her to be this nervous. Better to rip off the band-aid quick and get it over with. âI-Iâm pregnant.âÂ

loralyxdavies:
Hearing Jenniferâs words and the way she said them brought the brunetteâs full attention to her. So what Loraly had thought sheâd seen had been true; her friend had been crying. âYes, of course. Should we sit or..?â Her brow was furrowed, the look of concern written on every inch of her face. This didnât seem good or sheâd have been smiling, and that scared Loraly. Jennifer didnât deserve any more bad things in her life, not after all sheâd already been through.Â
"I - uh - sure.â Jennifer said, needing the extra few seconds to bolster her courage for another round of confessions. Moving over to the couch, Jennifer perched on the edge of the seat, her hands nervously clasped together in her lap. âI... Iâm...â She tried to start but stopped, the words not coming to her. Jennifer had thought that telling Loraly would be the easiest, but sheâd been wrong. It was just as nerve-wracking as telling Andrew had been. âYou r-remember that Andrew a-and I slept t-together?â
arabelladxnna:
âYouâre welcome,â Arabella responded immediately. What else could she say? This was just another event in a long series of attacks. She almost felt like she ought to be used to it by now. But that was impossible. âIf thereâs anything else you need, as far as sweet goes, Iâm here. I canât help with much else, Iâm afraid.â
âCompany might be nice.â Jennifer said quietly. âO-Only if you want t-to, of course.â She amended, realizing how her words had sounded. Despite Dominique's assurances, Jenny was still worried about Andrew and Loraly. It wasn't like either of them to be absent from the scene of an attack. They were both too protective for their own good.Â
