Sitting in her car, Troian kept her head buried in her hands as she wept.
She was having an awful day. It had all started when she woke up late in the day to find Naya gone, the only evidence of her actually having stayed over being the empty plate of brownies and the smell of her perfume on Troian's couch pillows. She had a kink in her neck from sleeping on a cramped surface, her milk had gone sour so she hadn't eaten anything apart from a slightly stale bagel, and Keegan had called her in a hurry to come pick up Phillip since he needed to be somewhere.
And that somewhere was a date.
Alright, yes, they were broken up. Yes, Troian herself was pursuing someone. Yes, she was slowly moving on from him. That didn't mean it didn't hurt. As always, the two had gotten into a heated argument over something as stupid as him losing one of Phillip's shoes and Troian had tearfully asked him why it was so easy to leave her, why it was always so easy for someone to leave her, and he accused her of being a drama queen and then before she knew it, they were screaming themselves hoarse in front of a crying Phillip.
Troian had always hated it when her parents fought in front of her when she was little and look at her now - repeating the same mistakes. She had taken Phillip in her arms, stalked back to her car and drove off only to pull over and cry until her chest hurt. It was like everything she had been holding back since the breakup was let loose and she was finally allowing herself to mourn the lost relationship she had sworn was going to end with them holding each other in their sleep with grey hair.
She pulled out her phone, which was ringing and through her blurry vision, saw Lucy's name. Struggling to pull herself together, she sucked in a deep breath and hit answer. "H-Hello?" She sniffled.
