misinformed. zico & kristopher.
The rustle of turning pages, stories inscribed and bound in leather, waiting to pass on their truths to the next set of eyes that served as a window, a portal, into a temporary world. Kristopher had always had an affinity for the tiny universes, kept in abundance in both sprawling libraries and quaint bookstores, tucked into rarely visited nooks and crannies but frequented by customers whose faces soon became more familiar to the shop’s owners than the covers of the books they sold. Some cliches and tropes wore thin but he could always find new books to entertain him, a weary soul who had seen his fair share of the world, in his favorite book store, a collection that housed more dust and casual students looking to take advantage of the generous and fast WiFi than a large selection of books but he certainly preferred it to its larger counterparts that sported franchised book series and overpriced coffee. In creaking shelves, treasures of men hid, rare books that people judged by their cover and were retired to a store which saw little business but Kristopher had always been a silent supporter, quietly handing over folded bills to take home a few night’s worth of entertainment.
He had been surprised to find an author selling autographed copies of his own self penned works but a small crowd had gathered, an unusual sight. He grumbled a bit, a displeased expression at the thought of having to deal with a higher than average noise level but he bit his tongue to satisfy his own curiosity as to who had garnered this much attention among a young female crowd.
It was an understatement to say it was hard to maneuver with a large and lanky body, long limbs feeling too out of place to be of any use so he settled for moving with the general cluster of people, edging towards the table and carefully picking up a copy, hands quickly flipping through the pages and eyes skimming over the summary. He was sure the author was in earshot, his passing remark loud enough to be heard by most. “A book about vampires? How original. Unfortunately not even accurate.”
