The Abe family- Blood in the snow

The one reason why Nova can summon snow in times of duress

Nova was skipping outside with her friend. There was a cheery laugh from the other as she arrived at her house. Nova had a giggle as she skipped.

"I'll be right back Sana." Nova said with a bright grin. For the young pigtailed girl wasn't expecting much of anything to happen. It was a normal day, and she wanted to enjoy it such.

There was a groan from the outside. It made Nova took pause. Why was there a groan. The younger walked slowly through the labyrinth of the home.

Terehito! Kudasai (mercy) Kudasai (mercy) terehito!

It made Nova's blood run cold. What was her father doing. What was going on. Her hastened breath kept running forward, hoping everything was okay and it was just an arguement. Her father just by the doorway .

Nova sighed in relief but the sight she saw terrified her. It was one of the staff, his once white shirt turned crimson, repeating to have mercy on him. Nova felt herself in shock. She couldn't held but scream in terror. How can her father be so cold....like the snow fall.

And then it started to snow. The blood dissapiting through the ice, a warmth protecting her. She looked at her father who in turn had a shocked look on his face.

"Yamete.(stop)" Terehito said his eyes stern on his daughter.

Nova only looked in confusion but Terehito only got angrier.

"YAMETE." He said with more conviction.

This time the snow stopped but Nova was still shaking. Terehito gritted his teeth.

"Some people deserve to die- especially if they don't pay their debts." He said simply. There was a pause before put away his blade. There was a fake tenderness in his eyes.

"Nagisa never do wha you did today ever again." He said gently wiping his tears. Not out of sympathy but out of reputation. He couldn't have the yakuza know he married a witch.

Nova only nodded feebly.

Nova sat at dinner that night with her family. It felt wrong without him there. He was an elderly man who always made a joke, lighten up the mood. But he was no longer there.

Nova looked at her mother, who was averting her eyes away from her daughter, and then her grandmother mouthing something about talking later.

Her brothers looked at Nova with a variation of apathy and annoyance-whispering about something she couldn't quite decipher. Finally the eldest talked.

"Miko." He said. Nova looked at Enji confused. Something in his eyes had a fury. "How are you the-"

"Yamate." Terehito said in a stern voice. Enji bowed but looked at Nova with pure contempt.

Terehito sat in the middle of the table eyes scanning everyone but looking at Nova longer as if she committed a great sin.

"Deru kugi wa utareru" Terehito said looking directly at Nova.

“The nail that sticks up, will be hammered down.”

"Hai." (Yes) Nova's brothers said echoing that sentiment.

There was an expectant look on Nova.

"H-hai." Nova said feebly. Nova stood up and bowed to her father for forgiveness.

Terehito reluctantly nodded.

Nova was sitting in her nightgown in her grandmother's room. Her grandmother giving Nova some mochi.

"It's not your fault." Rei tried to reassure her. "Nagisa you couldn't have known."

Nova bit into the sweet only now responding.

"Did I make it snow."

Rei's lips were a thin line- unable to answer. There was a look of concern because she knew what she had to do- but Rei hated it. But it was for Nova's and Ami's safety.

"Just close your eyes." Rei said. Nova nodded and closed them.

Rei muttered the sealing spell on Nova quietly. But she couldn't help but add.

"May the fox protect you from harm." Under her breath.

The red seal made its place over Nova's heart before fading inwards. Nova had a confused look on her face, as if she woke up from a dream.

Nova looked at Rei.

"What happened today?" She couldn't help but ask.

Rei forced a smile.

"Sana had to go home early and you were a bit sad." She tried to reassure.

Nova looked at her grandmother before an airy laugh left her.

"Silly me." Nova said with a giggle. Rei ruffled Nagisa's hair.

"Tomorrow is a new day my little star." Rei reassured

Nova smiled and ran to her room

"Is it done?" Terehito asked

Rei looked at her daughter's husband with contempt.

"Sooner or later she can find out." Terehito scowled and leaned closer.

"Then we'll have to be more careful Rei." He said in a venomous tone.

Rei waited until Terehito left before muttering.

"A fox will defeat you for your arrogance."

Chapter 4.5 the kiss

"I'm complicated. Rules are complicated." TJ tried to brush off the weight of his issues. "Do we need to check that you're not the one concussed?" He gave her an intense gaze.

"I think we might have better luck screaming at your boss than mine." He was certain of that. "But I reckon I can sweet-talk my way out of this place." Unfortunately, he couldn't say the same about dealing with his own boss. "I'll accept the challenge."

Complicated is another way of saying has yet to be solved. Just give me the clues and I'll deciper it." Nova said.

Nova felt her own heart beating fast in her chest at the stare. There was a moment where Nova almost backed off. But there was a fire in her chest telling her not too. If he was intense then she would have to be too. Quickly closing the door there was a more alluring look on her features. She jumped on the ledge of the bed just close enough to be near his face.

"Would a concussed person do this." Nova asked pulling the other gently into a brief kiss. She laid her own lips not caring for the brief taste of cigarettes and the stuble pricking her cheek She pulled away praying her lack of experience didn't show with a sweet grin. "I think I proven my point, dont you agree TJ."

There was a frightened look on Nova's features when she heard the door rustling. "That might be Clara, act natural." Nova said as she once again feel off the bed still holding TJ's hand.

The kiss from her was a surprise - sort of. There were plenty of signals, and he had wanted to make that leap once they'd escaped, only to avoid causing any more trouble. But it seemed they were past that. The rattling at the door was an annoyance. It was always someone's boss having to come and ruin the day - and now it was their moment, even if it was brief. But let anyone destroy that fleeting moment? Like hell was he going to let that happen.

"It would be more natural if I just," keeping his gaze constant on her, he once again pulled her up. This time, he pulled her just a little closer, with one hand intertwined with hers and his other arm wrapped around her. "Be equally guilty." He swooped in, his lips pressed firmly against hers with a desire to take her breath away and distract her. TJ always lived for the thrill, and maybe, for her to understand, he'd have to show her a glimpse.

Nova softly gasped in surprise as she was pulled into the kiss. It felt so good to feel his lips against hers. As if something was missing from her life until now. She wrapped her free arm around TJ letting herself feel his intensity in the kiss. Nova didn't know how much she was missing until now. Nova tried to return the intensity not caring about if her boss was going to catch her. She wanted to treated like this.And her breath was taken away as she continued.

There was a grunt from behind the door before the rattling of keys. As if like clockwork, Nova pulled back to get some air. The nurse met the head's nurse with a shyness yet mischevious look. The head nurse looked between Nova and TJ before rubbing her temples. "

As Nova played the kiss in her head during her shift, she felt a bit hungry. Her eyes sparkled as she reached for the bagels, she didn't noticed the seeds until she bit into the bread. There was a slight blush.

"Poppy seed bagels." Nova muttered to herself. There was a small chuckle before another blush. "The texture is different but I enjoy it." Nova said before taking another bite.

The head nurse heard what Nova said before rubbing her temples.

"Nagisa, please get your head out of the clouds and back to work." She chided.

Nova nodded before wrapping the bagel, knowing she wanted more later.

Chapter 4 and Nova met Taejin (Yes I'm skipping three right now because one is too emo)

"Officer....Choi?" Nova sasked looking at his record. It was fairly thick.

"Choi Taejin-failed several drug tests. Speaking angrily in korean. You dealt with children- you can deal with him."

"b-but- i wanted to get a custard tart" Nova said before being pushed into the room with the man. Nova made eye contact with the most intimidating man she's ever met.

"Ssibal."

Nova puffed her cheeks.

"Curse me out againand I will rip your hippocamus" Nova warned.

Taejin was quiet

Nova adjusted her glasses. Not making eye contact.

"You have once again failed your drug test. As you know a third time will result in-" Nova looked at the numbers. "Now that isn't right."

She didn't notice Taejin glaring at him. There was a hum. "Do you like eating poppy seed bagels?" Nova asked. Taejin was staring in surprise."There levels are incredibly low, but poppy seeds can give you a false postive." Nova remarked. There was a hum. "Just skip a poppy seed bagel before your third test and you'll pass." Taejin looked at her in suspicion. "Take a chance why don't you." Nova said.

Nova glanced at the results and saw Choi Taejin's. She smiled in excitement and let herself skip out.

"Mission accomplished. I can buy a custard tar-" Nova paused before seeing Taejin in the lobby. Nova sqeauled before running backwards.

So much for her custard tart. But Nova didn't notice Taejin looking at her

Several weeks later.

Nova was walking across the hallway walking on her merry way. Nova was surprised she was pulled into a doorway.

There was Taejin dressed in his uniform before covering her mouth. Nova's eyes widened in surprise. He put made the shh gesture. There was a box saying joesonghabnida, nagisa. Nova opened the box seeing custard tarts. Nova gasped.

"Custard tarts." There was a bright smile. Nova put it aside before giving him a hug. "Thank you Taejin you're the best."

Nova pulled away with bright red cheeks and takes the tarts.

"That was unprofessional of me I apologize." Nova said running out embarrased. Maybe if she looked up she would have seen TJ blushing and looking at her in awe.

Little did either of them knows it was the start of something special.

Chapter 2

The teenage years

"Nagisa Abe." The principal said.

Nova peered into the office door as she came in.

"Hi." The hello was a bit softer than intended

"Congratulations for winning the regional academic decathlon. You even got a golden medal in statistics."

"R-really."

"Now why would I lie about that."

Nova looked around nervously.

"I don't think I would have done that well."

"Nagisa you excel in most your subjects. Your grades are wonderful. You seem almost well rounded. I would say that you are on well on your way."

There was a polite bow of her head before a thank you.

"I just wonder why you aren't occupied with any sports." "Sports?" "Maybe cheerleading, lacross, ten-"

"I actually do Karate."

The principal had an amused look on his face.

"Karate aren't you a bit small for that-"

"Well you see....."

"Again." Rei said.

Nova's fingertips numb as she tried to strike the trainer.

"I can't do it my fingers too small to make the finishing blow."

Her grandmother appeared out of the shadows.

"You might be diminitive but all you need to do is strike. Use your stature as a way to knock him out. Focus all your chi on his."

For a moment Nova felt like she couldn't. But as she closed her eyes it was like for a moment she sae his weakpoint. Quick to jab it. The trainer fell to his knees. Her grandmother clapped. "Excellent job young one." Rei said. "So would I ever have to-"

"No. You are young and don't need to use it against anyone."

The words for now hung. Not now shes only a teenager, there will a time but not now

"Its basic self defense and I have trainer. Even won a tournment." Nova said with a shy grin.

The prinicipal stared in shock.

"I see....you should head to class now."

"I should."

Nova said as she oddly bows before walking out of the room

The Nova Chapters

Chapter 1: the childhood

"Nagisa." Rei tutted as she brushed the younger's hair. "You can't just cut your hair shorter to look like your brothers. "

"But Hiro, Takumi, Tenshi, Sho, Kaoru, and Geto can." Nova pointed out.

The grandmother tutted as she continued to brush.

"I know your father tends to pay attention more to them then you but it isn't because of your hair."

"Then why is it Grandma?"

Rei froze from brushing her grand daughter's hair. As if by magic, the six brothers stood there looking at Nova with ire and suspucion. The older sighed.

Ill tell her someday but not today. She is the seventh daughter but she's only a kid.

"Because you stand out by being yourself Nagisa. You cant be your brothers. You can only be you my dear Nagisa."

The youngest couldn't help but pout.

"Nagisssa-ah. I promise you will understand in time." The grandmother sayd.

"Go play with your brothers why don't you."

Nova nodded before running along
