Speech delivered: President Benigno Aquino III last SONA
“Kung walang kurap, walang mahirap” P-NOY, on the sixth and last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno Aquino III, he emphasized that he is really against corruption.
Aquino started his speech stating the accomplishments of his administration. He also revealed the failure of the past administration. He opened up again the hello Garci scandal, the Ampatuan Murder case and the NBN ZTE scandal. He also revealed that the Philippines ranked eighth on the most corrupt in the world in 2008, which is the administration of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Aquino acknowledged the achievements of the cabinet secretaries that have done great during his term. He enumerates his accomplishments in the five years of his term, like on how the economy ranked up when it comes to employment, infrastructure programs and education. He said that the economy of the Philippines is now developing fast, unemployment decreases and some of the Pilipino is now employed. The out of school youth decreases because of the educational program that made during his term. One of it is the Panatawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) that helps Pilipino families and children; they now have a chance to finish their studies because of it. He also said that the poverty decreased during his term.
On the last part of his speech, he proposed the Anti-dynasty law and he also thank the people who help him over the past five years of his term.
