This weekend is the Project for Awesome- the fantastic, crowdsourced fundraising campaign for charity powered by the YouTube community. The top 10 charities receive tens of thousands of dollars in grant funds - an amount that deeply impacts our ability to make safer online spaces. Visit the Uplift page and vote for all of our videos!

The next P4A stitchathon project is underway. This one came from @gaychangeling on twitter when I tweeted at Hank to ask what I should sew next. They’re @snowdrop-faerie here on Tumblr. Time to get this underway. And remember to donate, vote, and tune in to the live stream.
Here on bear-man-xstitch, any size donation enters you into my nerdfighter xstitch give away. First place gets the Willie and puppy sized elephant piece, second place gets to choose Willie by himself or a hanklerfish, and third place gets whichever second place doesn’t choose. Any donation $20+ gets a free patch, either a personalized P4A donor patch or a mini pride flag.

It’s Project for Awesome Time!!
It’s a weekend in early December, which means it’s time for the 12th annual Project for Awesome. For those of you who don’t know what the Project for Awesome is, it’s an annual 48 hour charity live stream hosted by Hank and John Green. They raise money for charities both large and small. For the first half of the project, all money raised is split between Save the Children and Partners in Health. For the second half of the project, how the money is split up between charities is determined by votes on submitted videos about various charities on the Project for Awesome website.
There are a TON of ways you can participate in this wonderful project.
1. Donate. First and foremost, you can give you money to the project and help fund their charity work. Through THIS LINK you can donate to the campaign on their Indiegogo and you choose to either just donate money, or you can claim one of their many, many perks that they have for offer. 100% of your money will go to the charities the project is donating to, minus the production cost of physical perks, shipping costs, and Indiegogo fees.
2. Make a video. If there is a charity you would like money from the project to go to, make a video about the charity and submit it HERE. People can then vote on your video if they also want money to go towards that charity.
3. Vote. You can go to THIS LINK to vote on videos for charities that you would like the money to go to. This is how all of the money from the second half of the is allocated, so it’s super important to vote for the charities you want to support.
4. Tune in to the live stream. You can go to THIS LINK to tune in to the 48 hour live stream. The stream runs from 12:00 PM EST December 7th until 12:00 PM EST December 9th. As most people know, YouTube is a mysterious creature and its algorithms are strange and elusive. That being said, traffic on a live stream always helps the stream get boosted. So tune into the live stream and show YouTube it’s supporting something worthwhile. Also it’s a ton of fun. This is where the real magic of the Project for Awesome happens.
5. Spread the word. Tell your friends, family, and followers. Reblog this post. Share the links. Make posts on other social media sites. Do whatever you can to spread awareness that the Project for Awesome is going on now and all the good it does.
In case you didn’t have enough incentive to help out the Project for Awesome, let me give you one more reason. If you send me a screenshot from the Indiegogo saying you donated at least $20, I will send you an exclusive personalized P4A 2018 donor patch or mini pride flag for free. All I need is your address so I can actually ship it to you. As soon as I have one of the donor patches sewn up, I’ll be sure to post it so you can see it. I’ll also post a tracker to keep track of how much money my followers donate to the Project for Awesome.
