Now that we’ve seen the Wooga Soop, would you watch a 97 Liner Soop or Padding Squad Soop first?
**
Hi Anon,
I guess this is where I say, I haven't actually watched Wooga Soop. That kind of content has almost zero appeal for me. I haven't even watched BTS In The Soop 2. Lol.
I said some months ago people engage with fandom and BTS in a variety of ways. I'm generally more interested in music content and anything that comprehensively shows their process, than other content types. I've read and listened to every interview they've ever done that I'm aware of. I watch their documentaries and Vlives, and oftentimes even go through Memories content, but things like Bangtan Bombs, and a few other things that seem like content for the sake of content, are things I tend to skip. I watched the first In The Soop since it was a new thing, and when I figured out what it is (a domestic complement to Bon Voyage / Summer Package), I decided to skip the next iterations.
I've seen clips from Wooga Soop here and there and it seems Tae's presented in a cute, vulnerable fashion there, as the maknae surrounded by hyungs who seem to genuinely love him. It's heartwarming content especially for people already very fond of Tae. I think it's possible we get a 97 Liner or Padding Squad Soop, but less likely than the Wooga Soop scenario because prior to now, Tae has very frequently and very publicly highlighted his connection to the Wooga squad. He's had highly publicized cameos in their music videos, showed up as a guest on their talk shows, made OSTs for their film projects, and so on. He's knitted the Wooga Squad into his celebrity identity in a way that neither Jungkook nor Jimin have done for their own celebrity friend groups.
But, if we do get Soop versions for Jungkook and Jimin's friend groups, I think that will actually be more interesting for most people in the fandom precisely because those friendships have not been thoroughly highlighted before, compared to Wooga. Just out of curiosity, a lot of people with tune in, and let's not forget the other idols' fandoms that will become invested as well.
I'll probably watch more of it than I did for Tae, though that isn't really saying much given that I haven't watched Tae's at all. But by nearly every metric, jikook's versions will be more interesting for most people and more lucrative than the Wooga version (k-pop fans generally spend more money than k-drama fans...), so HYBE would be stupid not to at least consider it. But again, I think it's unlikely this happens because the idols themselves, Jimin and Jungkook, don't seem like they'd want to highlight and exploit their friendships in that way.
