Opelousas, Noman’s Land… May 25, 0104 (2606)… Tarique’s sitting in “The Lab” with Tariq, between tour dates, and writing some lyrics, while an upcoming rap duo, FR33WØRLD are recording tracks for their debut album. “Yo, ain’t that Vash Saverem’s little lady, right there?” rapper Young Lotto says, as Future Proof says “Yeah, that is Vash’s girl, I ain’t know that his girl was… Tariq Dollaz’s daughter.”, Tarique would walk from the sound room, and Young Lotto says “Yo, you seen Vash, since this whole shit happened?” “No, I’ve been getting sent to voicemail. It’s been weeks since I’ve spoken to him. Where do you know Vash from?” “Taylor-Ickes. He used to live out there, he stayed with Julius Hefner and Terrance House. I didn’t know that you were Tarique Alijah, now it makes sense why you felt so out of place at Marcus and Keala’s house, or at that house party that Masyn had at his place some months back. You ain’t a ‘hood princess’, you’re an actual princess!” Future Proof says, as Tariq says “I’m on the planning committee for Rolling Loud 0104, so I’m adding FR33WØRLD to the tour list!” “You for real?” “Yes, I’m for real, this is a family business, this little one is my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter doesn’t really care for the entertainment business, she has other goals that she’s pursuing.” Tariq says, as Tarique puts her notebook into her tote bag, and says “I’m about to go to the hotel, and get some sleep, order some food. See you later, Daddy.”, Tarique’s phone rings, and she’d answer it, saying “(📲) Taira, you’re joining Toukie DeNiro on yet another journaling assignment?” “(📲) yep, gotta get this paper!” “(📲) I’m in between tour dates, so I’m relaxing. This baby has me feeling so nauseous and tired…” Tarique says, as she leaves the building, and is approached by “Good evening, milady.” “N-Nai? What the? How’d you find me in Opelousas?” “I have my ways, Tarique. When are you going to come to your senses, and return to July City, fulfill your duties as a wife.” Nai says “I’m hosting a concert in Julai in a few days, and I wanted to invite you.” “Nai, I… can’t. I’m in a relationship with someone else.” “I heard about that. Apparently they’re a lower class person?” Nai says, looking at Tarique “You should leave that man, and come back. I’ve changed, Tarique, for you.” “You couldn’t have changed, Nai. You’re too obsessed with your brother and the liberation of your Plant sisters to make time for me, I’m a celebrity, I record albums and tour, make influencer photos, videos and appearances.” “My brother is no longer an issue for us, you’ll meet him soon, if you change your mind and marry me. We can populate the planet with independent Plants, Tarique.” Nai says, when “Miss Tarique, you should be going into the hotel and getting some much needed rest. Should I request an Uber/Lyft back to the hotel?” Gemini says, as Tarique says “Yes, seeing as I’m tired and need sleep.” “I have requested an Uber/Lyft, and a ride will be here in 12 minutes.” “Thank you, Gemini.” Tarique says, sipping on a cup of boba tea. “I thought that you weren’t allowed to have these… sugary drinks, while on tour, Miss Tarique?” “I can, when Champagne isn’t around, monitoring my diet… besides, the little princess wants a boba tea, surprisingly.” Tarique says, as Nai says “You want a ride to the hotel?” “No thanks.” Gemini says, as Tarique says “I have a ride coming.” “Miss Tarique, you’re showing signs of fatigue and hunger, signs that indicate a…” “I’m aware of those symptoms… Gemini.” Tarique replies, as Nai says “Legato, I’ll be going to the hotel shortly. Meet me there. I’ll be making sure that Tarique arrives at her destination.” “I’m fine, Nai, there’s my ride.” Tarique says, as she’d step into the car, and Nai says “💵, here’s a little tip for you.” “Thank you, sir.” The driver says, as Tarique sits uncomfortably in the car with Nai, when her phone rings, and she answers “(📲) Hello? Omigod… babe, you’re alright? 🥹, I’m so glad that you’re okay, I was calling you, and you weren’t answering your phone, so… disregard my mean voicemails.”

The Silmarils being precious beyond compare and actually making people unwilling to give them up is canon! Or, well, technically the canon that the Silmarils can enthrall people. Same thing.

I'm so tickled that this headcanon is actually canon, and you don't need to take my word for it, here's the pertinent quote:

"And Melkor, seeing that Fëanor wavered, and knowing that the Silmarils held his heart in thrall, said at last ..."

who cares what Melkor said, the Silmarils make people their thralls!!

The question is, have they had this ability since their creation, or only since the Valar hallowed them?

I've had this 70% finished page sitting in my files for a while now. I'm hoping (praying) that I can stop feeling intimidated by this comic from here on out. But... considering my history... I can only hope (praying so hard)
